  1. Depends on the group. "Infravision" was replaced by "low-light vision" in later versions just because of all the issues that arise from it. Generally, "ifravision" in the form of heat-sensing is more pain than it's worth. A simple torch negates its use in most situations, which is almost always more of a problem for the players than it is for the monsters.
  2. Of course not. Illusions aren't real. However, the magic would (depending on the spell) most certainly make the viewer think there were heat signatures. Otherwise, what's the point? Think carefully on this, however, and take the spell's description into account. You may find there will be trouble with certain illusions and non-traditional senses.
  3. Depends on the spell. Spells with "touch" or "self" descriptors wouldn't require LoS, because you don't need to see to make the magic work. Ranged spells always need LoS, and Line of Effect is always important.
