I have a level 10 dwarven monk (1 adventure away from level 11). I would be willing to give the adventure a shot some time if there were willing victims.
I have run King of the Storval Stairs once. The group was a bunch of friends who always gamed these characters together and had a very nice balance in design and conception. Still, 2 went down and it was a very close thing. Never had anyone else want to give it a try.
So, for posting an ad, I'm thinking it probably makes sense to plagiarize heavily from our last advertisement (which doubtless was plagiarized from earlier versions).
I would add some specific things about PbP Gameday V, however.
I might also drop a note over at the Paizo forums.
OK, a slightly updated verison adding aerondor's text. I'll post this advertisement later tonight
PATHFINDER SOCIETY
The Official Myth-Weavers Chapter
The Myth-Weavers chapter of the Pathfinder Society needs more players and GMs!
The Decemvirate Wants YOU!
The ten shadowy masters of the Pathfinder Society have seen fit to conclude your arduous months of training. Through trial (and a great deal of error), you have finally been dubbed "Pathfinders", agents of one of the most notorious organizations in Golarion. You hail from the far corners of Avistan and Garund, and your allegiances to particular nations are still strong, yet one trait unites you all: your insatiable desire to explore the hidden places in Golarion, to recover its lost secrets, and to have your deeds sung for eternity in the pages of the Pathfinder Chronicles.
If you're a veteran of games here on the Weave, you'll immediately notice that this game actually houses several ongoing games at once. We have gathered a stable of able GMs to run scenarios for our registered players. Each GM has control of his own game (within the limits of the Rules & Guidelines), but ultimately reports to the Venture-Captain. More players can play at once than the average PbP game, and there is no application process. As long as a player has a street-legal Pathfinder Society character, he/she can join up! When a GM calls for a Muster for his scenario, it's first come, first served.
So come be part of something larger, something different, and something ridiculously fun! Help Pathfinder gain a strong foothold here on the Weave!
One of the great things about PFS is that it is almost made for online play.
Really like your character, but the game dies? No problem; your character lives on, and can be played in any other legal PFS game.
One of the other characters in the group irritates your character? No problem. Typical PFS games last 2-4 months. Once that's done, just don't play with that other character again.
Like the GM, but they don't have the time to draw up another brilliant new scenario for you? No problem. PFS has a library of nearly 200 scenarios that GMs can draw from and run.
PFS games are short (typically a few months), and because of the special rules in play, you can take the same character between games, slowly growing in experience and fame as you complete individual scenarios. You may explore with the same group, but groups typically change a lot from scenario to scenario. Most of us have more than one character, and we'll choose a character to play for a game-- or, indeed play in more than one PFS game at the same time.
We've been up and running for a few years now, with a solid group of dedicated GMs, but there's always room for more talent! If you want to run simple, straightforward, and short mods, please let me know. The larger the stable of GMs, the more scenarios that can be run simultaneously, and the more players that can be served. And if you'd like to join as a player, post your interest here, as well.
But first, if you aren't already a PFS player, run over to the official Pathfinder Society home page and join up. It's free and painless, I promise!
Registering will generate a unique ID number for you. When you have this number in your grubby little hands, come back here and present that number in your post. Link it to your profile on Paizo's site. If I see a valid number, you get an invite. It's that simple, and it's probably the easiest application you've ever had to produce here on the Weave!
Also, please tell me if you're applying as a player or a GM (or both).
Once you're in, check out the various sticky threads in the Main Threadgroup of our forum. That includes links to Pathfinder Society resources, as well as particular procedures and conventions that we follow for our chapter here on the Weave.
We're recruiting right now because the Pathfinder Society Play-by-Post Gameday 5 is about to start, and we want to give people a chance to jump into the games we're running here as a part of that. Indeed, right now we are mustering groups to play in the multi-table special, an event where PFS players of all levels play at tables of 4-6 players, but the entire set of tables (there will probably be dozens of them participating in the event) work together towars a common goal. If you're interested in participating in this, once you've joined the game make sure to check in on the Mustering thread for the Gameday Special. That game itself will begin at the end of August.
