Hello everyone, I'm a long time player of RPGs and recently joined the military leaving in a position of only being able to play over the web. One of my old mates told me about play by post and it sound like an absolute blast. I'm very much looking forward to playing some games. FYI

Games I play: Dungeon & Dragons 3.5, Pathfinder (haven't played it a ton but really like it), Dark Heresy, Anima, Exalted, and many others I can't think of off the top of my head.

Roles I like to play: I tend to play more or less any class favoring rouges over the rest but am more than willing to play any role if the game sounds good.

Type of game I want to play: I'm looking for a more standard fantasy game (Words that sound odd together). My last DM wanted to play the most ridiculousness final fantasy style game and kind of wore me out. As such I'm looking for a return to normality. For the record I love roleplaying and extensive combat tends to overstay it's welcome with me. Simply put if you roll a chart for a random encounter while were on the road then I more than likely wouldn't enjoy your game.

I'm working on a mid-level fantasy setting based on ancient Mesopotamia. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it as somebody who's into fantasy but gets exasperated when it gets overblown. I think every GM needs a level-headed player to ground him/her.
