NDAA Signed Again

NDAA Signed Again

I can't stand fake liberals.

What happened to closing Guantanamo Bay? What happened to our civil liberties? The NDAA is one of the most unconstitutional bills ever to be conceived, and despite the veto threat, once more Obama signs this completely unlawful nonsense into existence. The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act? Oh, that was just extended. No big, right? Where are the liberals that raged against this? Is it suddenly okay because Obama's doing it?

This fiscal cliff deal is absurd. Yes, tax rates were raised on the wealthy. At the same time, large corporations were handed billions of dollars in subsidies. There's no end to the corporatism in this nation. Our officials are corrupt. They can't afford to pay for you to see a doctor, but billions of dollars to large corporations is a bill they can foot.

We live in a plutocracy, Americans. Democracy is done. I urge you to call your congresspeople and tell them that you oppose the NDAA, and that you're tired of the blatant corporatism in this nation, and that you don't want to live in a police state anymore.

How about what we can do stop these neo-liberals from eroding our freedoms and liberties as Americans? I think Arkaelis's OP has plenty of constructive argument in it. This is a problem, congress and Obama continue to push Orwellian policy like the above down our throats, and portions of congress are taking it a step further with bills like SOPA and such.

Maybe am just in the wrong mind set for this, one of you is saying he is not liberal enough, the other poster is saying he is to liberal, and you both are agreeing with each other.

Forget it, they're rolling.

I don't think you understand what a neo-liberal is, a very different animal from a liberal, hence Arkaelis using the phrase fake liberal to head a link.

If may ask , what is the difference between a neo liberal and a liberal, and a neo conservative and a conservative.

You shouldn't have to look this up, you are making arguments based on personal reflection of someone else values, and pushing them all into one large pile with a title. WHAT TO YOU! are these things. An am not really sure I would agree with how neo liberalism is talked about, that sounds like what others call neo conservative and the tea party.

What name-calling? Do you honestly think that Obama is a liberal? His tax cuts are only slightly less crippling to our nation's infrastructure than the Bush tax cuts, and this time, they're permanent. The deal is a joke. Obama's initial offer was $1.6 trillion in revenue. Boehner's initial offer was $.8 trillion. The deal that was signed was $.6 trillion. The bargain made gave less revenue than Boehner's initial offer. What kind of negotiation is that? But don't worry, NASCAR still gets a subsidy, because we've got the money for that.

This is completely ignoring the fact that he's abusing the FISA and NDAA and the Patriot Act like they're going out of style. The worst part is, they're not going out of style.
