Refurbishing D20 Generic Classes!
I'm ginning up a D20 future game and I started working over the existing classes. Well, as things happen I have come all the way around and am taking the basic concept of Generic Classes and building them for sci-fi goodness.
The concept (which was what D20 Modern basic classes were) is a mix and match system that lets you more freedom. The basic classes were not well designed or balanced with their talent trees and stats (Strong hero being better at guns than Fast hero?). So parting everything out into basic classes which only get hit die related stuff and bonus feats and a separate class feature set that only has basic requirements to obtain.
By allowing only the feats you get from hit dice to buy the class features, it means you can give more regular feats to the combat types since that is what most feats are designed for.
What I need now are a list of class features for the sci-fi genre. The only thing that really works from the original list is Uncanny Dodge, Familiar (a tech version), Evasion, Wild Empathy perhaps.
