Due to the fact that I haven't seen an ad for a GWTBW game in over a year, I decided it was time to dig the system out of the archives and start one up myself. This game will focus mostly on the day-to-day survival of 5 soldiers in the Red Army, as they deal with Blues, Yellows, zombies, disease, radiation, giant moths, and more.

Application Process

Step 1: Read the Gone with the Blastwave comic. If your character doesn't fit in very well with the established setting, it won't be accepted.

Step 2: Read through the rules (all of them! Don't skimp!). They can be found here.

Step 3: Post your character in this thread. Do NOT give yourself a Perk or Additional Skill yet. Spend time fleshing out your Bio so I can come up with some interesting ones for you to choose from.

Step 4: If I like your character, I'll send you an invite with further instructions...

Tips and Caveats:

-Make your character interesting.
-Your character must be a full-blooded Red. No defectors, no mercenaries, no civilians.
-Make sure you've got a good feel of the Blastwave setting before you post. As I said in #1, characters that don't fit won't be accepted.
-That being said, I have altered the setting slightly, and have added a few things that are noncanonical.
-Applicants are taken on a First Come First Served basis.
-That being said, if I find your character is dull or annoying, I'll skip over you.



Game Description:

The bombs fell, and civilization was wiped away. All that remains is rubble, dead and decaying. No electricity, no organized industry, barely any medical care. All that remains is the day-to-day struggle to fight.

But what can one fight for? Why fight for land when it's either burned, bombed, or polluted? Why fight for money when there's nothing left to spend it on? Why fight for natural resources when they're all put to use fighting? Why fight for religion when it has no more meaning?

Why fight at all?

For months or years, the Armies have been asking these questions. And when all of these facts are realized, the only reason left is the most logical one of all.

To win the war.

Bio: Church was born into a military family. His father was a solider, as was his father's father, and his mother's father, and his father's mother, hell even his dog was a solider! Church wanted to be a baseball player . . . Church was disappointed. Stationed within the Red army as long as he cares to remember Church's main focus has been to stay alive, for what reason? He is unsure. His hobbies include: shooting, not being shot, stealing kills, and mancala. His talents lie in sneaking around and scaring the hell out people. His favorite thing in the burnt out crater of a world is tinned pears, lord knows the don't come along often, but when they do . . .

Bio: Grim bleeds red; he simply has a natural preference to avoid such patriotic displays. This is not to say Grim is any less the soldier, why he's patched up more Reds and put down more Yellows, and Blues than he'll ever remember, or care to. In fact Grim can't ever remember doing much else; he’s been with the Red for as long as it matters and will fight for them as long as it takes.

Grim believes himself to be pragmatic and forward looking, but many seem to misread his situational assessments as dour, and his bedside manner as lacking tact.

In a fight Grim is no glory hound, some see this as borderline cowardice. Grim rationalizes that if the Medic is the one who needs saving who's going to do it? No one can argue though that when Grim does apply himself he does it with full ability be it: patching up allies, shooting down the enemy, or the rare lapse in judgment often mistaken for bravery.

Grim would kill for a good smoke as he stumbles around God's ashtray.

Bio: Jebidaiah,
(Or just Jon, as he likes to be called) was a man for the millitary, ever scence he was young. He grew up using a long-range hunting rifle to put-down different types of irriadiated creatures and zombies. As he grew up he was casually thrown into the army of reds. Jon was a simple shocktroop at first, but hs reselience, and being to GTFO of dangerous situations kept him in the army. He developed a keen sight from his long-range shots, he also was said that he could take down a target at and distance, and any pilot. He lived, breathed, and crapped yellows and blues. Jon had a habit of wasting too much ammo on people that he was taking down. He became impatient and bored, seeing that he actualy wanted to become a football player.

Jon sees himself as a goofy guy, playing around with his prey as he bored easily.

Jon Is more of a man who can kill anything, and anyone, although thinking out plans, and refraining from killing things that move are not his strong points.
