Akiros' Trials

Akiros' Trials

You must tell me everything! Are you running/walking? Are you keeping an eye out? ...give me a perception check every post! Make ALL checks that you think might be relevant!

You can see clearly in the dim light, but no source of light is evident in the cool stone corridor. The corridor is not square, but winding, and the walls seem to get rougher the further you travel. The twisting passageways prevent you from seeing far ahead.

Soon enough, the passage branches in two different directions.

Akiros dons his armor and takes the time to prepare his spells. He grips his shield and holds his sword in its sheath, ready to draw it at a moment's notice. He takes a normal walking pace, instinctively following the left path as the passageway splits. Right-handed, he would walk closer to the left wall in order to maximize the effectiveness of his sword arm. However, his shield won't protect him at all if it's backed against the wall, so he walks down the middle.

He

looks forward as he walks, keeping an eye on the walls and floor for traps or abnormalities. Confident in his abilities, he keeps his composure as well as he can, hoping that no violence will be necessary, but ready for it should it be required.

At the entrance to the left passageway, Akiros spots a strange carving on the wall. There seem to be some words, written in the Common alphabet, but arranged as to make no sense at all.

Thinking he may have made the wrong spell selection for these trials (or at least this one), Akiros takes a moment to recompose himself. He looks over at the right passage,

looking for a similar carving. After that, he looks at the bracelet he was given. If the stories he's heard about the Pathfinders are true, it might have some magical properties. Examining it for a while, he attempts to

discern its use.

A carving identical to this one seems to be on the wall of the right passageway as well.

You can't really tell what exactly the bracelet is intended to do, but you can tell that it isn't there for your use. Woven into its fabric is a plethora of magics, most notably divination and transmutation, but all of the schools are represented in varying degrees of strength.

Language isn't really his forte, but Akiros is also more intelligent than a lot of people he's met. He

examines the carving, trying to view it from different perspectives. A good soldier can use code. The discipline, the laws of translating them. No room for error.

Akiros never was that disciplined of a soldier. He loves freedom too much. He smiles as he looks down the tunnel. Since he's already standing by the one on the right, he continues down that path. "Walk on any road." he whispers to himself as he sets off, not wasting any more time on the carving. He's sure that its information would be useful, but he's sure that there will be other ways of figuring these trials out. Walking as before, he keeps his eyes
