Zombiepocalypse!
GURPS

Players
I am looking for 6 players. All applications will be accepted until February 25th, 2011.

Basic Storyline
What happens in Vegas definitely does not stay in Vegas anymore. In fact, what's in Vegas is in everywhere else in the world, too. Drooling, blood-thirsting, and deadly zombies have begun appearing all over the world. What's going on, no one knows. All you know is that you need to stay alive long enough to figure out what the frak is going on, even if it means leaving the flashing lights of Vegas, the city that never dies.

Character Requirements
All characters need to be created using 200 points using the GURPS 4th Edition system. The Tech Level of the game is TL8. This starts characters with $20,000 to spend on equipment and such. The disadvantage limit is -50 points. All characters need to have a description, background, and personality profile. A roleplaying sample isn't required but will increase chances of being selected for the campaign. Magic, psionics, and other supernatural characters will not be considered. Characters should be regular people who are in Las Vegas for one reason or another. For each character, post a new thread in the Character Applications area of the game forum. Players are welcome to create 'themselves' and apply with that character. Otherwise, characters should seem like real-world people.

PbP Specific Rules
A posting rate of at least once per day is mandatory, except on weekends (even I can't promise to post on weekends). Players who promote antisocial tendencies by not working with the team and such will be replaced. Player versus player combat will not be allowed. Arguments between characters should remain in character. If there is a disagreement between players, it is expected to be held in the OOC thread and should remain respectful and discussion-esque. I don't want to have to pull a Moderator into things. If someone needs to take a break, they are expected to let everyone else know before vanishing. If a player does not post within three days of vanishing without an explanation, they will be replaced.

Personal Notes
I want this to be a good game. I'm looking forward to seeing some solid applications and characters and I really can't wait to get into this game. There will probably be some lighthearted moments but for the most part I expect this game to remain pretty serious. As with all my games, inter-PC romantic relationships are seriously discouraged. All they do, in my opinion, is subtract from the game and distract players from what's going on.

Game Description:

Zombiepocalypse is a GURPS modern game that revolves around an outbreak of zombies all over the world. The game is set in modern-day Las Vegas, and the player characters are regular joes who have made their way to Vegas in some way when the outbreak occurs. Survivors can still be found, but their numbers are dwindling. Meanwhile, the zombies are only growing in number and variety.

The overall game style is somewhat freeform, but ultimately the goal is to escape the confines of Las Vegas and find a place to survive the Zombiepocalypse.

Color me interested! I luv's me some Zombie'pocalypse! I've never gotten to play Gurps although I have the 4th ed. rulebook. I'll work on it tonight when I get home.

What's the disadvantage limit?

I'll get to work right now.

The disadvantage limit is -50 points.

Been looking for a game to be a player in, and wanting to try out GURPs as it seems like a great system.

Any objections to applicants who are new to the system?

Nope. New players are fine. Feel free to ask questions as you go.

Well, rather than go down the old military/security/police route, and it is Vegas, would you have any heartache with a female escort as a concept?

That'd be fine by me. Remember to keep it PG-13 though, MW doesn't particularly like R-rated.

Alright, I was just making sure.
