Ferrus was born within the disease infested quagmire that is Volg Hive. As one of the lucky few that survived to maturity Ferrus has always been able to looked out for himself, even at the expense of others if necessary. So when the chance came to join the arbites and leave the foetid scum hole that had been his home Ferrus jumped at the it without a second thought.
During his training Ferrus proved that under the grim of his homeworld origins he was sharp eyed and had a knack for following a criminals trail like a bloodhound with a scent. A trait that cause him to be noticed by certain members of the Holy Inquisition, though Ferrus has no knowledge of this. As such his rise through the ranks of the arbites has been whispered to be at the behest of a higher power.
His ascension was not to be however, as an incident during the investigation on Prex II caused Ferrus' fate to follow a very different path. Ferrus along with his fellow arbites, where dispatched to investigate the rumours of heretic cults operating within the hives. what was uncovered was a whole slue of mutants and heretical practices. It was during a raid on a suspected cult gathering in the warehouse district that Ferrus became separated from his fellow arbites. When he was later found it was at the epicentre of a massacre, over 2 dozen bodies scatter about the floor; men, women and children all dead riddled with bullet wounds and Ferrus standing at the far end of the room throwing papers scrawled with heretics text onto an open fire.
When later questioned Ferrus confirmed that he had killed them all for the blasphemy that they had been performing, that their very existence was an affront to the God-Emperor. An inspect of the victims showed them all to have hideous mutants hidden under their garments and a number had heretical symbols carved into their very flesh, which still seem to pulse with unholy power despite the bearers being long dead. The entire contents of the room, bodies and all was later deemed hereticus extremis and was promptly cleansed with the holy promethium of arbite flamers.
Few arbites could meet him in the eye after that and is was debated long and hard by his superiors what punishment his actions merited. As a consequence, Ferrus was taken and trained to be a Mortiurge, a sanctioned killer for the use by the Adeptus Arbites. It was shortly after completing his training as a mortiurge that Ferrus was called to serve the inquisition under Inquisitor Kaltos.
Ferrus is a ruggedly built man in his mid 30s. His face bares a myriad of scares from his life as an arbite. He keeps his muddy brown hair cut short.and his eyes are a very dark blue, almost black and few are those who have looked into them and seen anything other than cold, condemning judgement.
