This is my very first attempt at DMing a game. I've been playing DnD all these years, but only as a pawn in a friend's game. Now I'm going to be in control, and it is going to be awesome. I might have to work out some kinks, but I know my experience as a player, and creative writer, will lend itself well to this first shot at Game Mastery.

The Concept you and 3-4 other players are servants of some kind to the recently fallen King. A royal rival has come, is in the midst of destroying the vast castle you reside in and finding the princess to steal as his bride. He has killed your King, stabbed him while you were in the King's chamber. Wounded and dying, he had you all go into his escape tunnel behind his throne. You are unknown to the enemy, and that's where and when the game will start.

32 Point Buy, Max Gold for 1st level (PHB 111), though you will be level 2.

Also, Max health at 1st level, roll thereafter. One flaw, not required or even encouraged really. No traits.

Sources: Core, Completes, UA and FRCS are the only sources I'll be interested in. I'll allow limited use of Spell Compendium. Everything else you can ask, citing page numbers.

Name: Nothing silly...nothing too silly...Also apps go here.
Race: Core Only. DMG/MM Subraces and UA Variants will be approved/shot down on a case by case basis.
Class: No Psionics, No Dragon Magazines, No Homebrew. Yes to Core, Completes and Unearthed Arcana.
Alignment: Must be motivated to carry out the will of the King, whether that's on principal or for personal reasons, I don't care. I'm not a fan of team killers. That all said, go with what works for you. I predict one evil character making it into the group, if any. But we'll see...
Background and Personality: A paragraph, at least. You can tell a story that portrays both (my preference when applying, or make them seperate, I don't mind. I want fleshed out, interesting character.
Service to the King: Why were you in the King's chamber? Are you a cook? Jester? Guard? Thief? Advisor? Foreign diplomat? The royal haberdasher?

I'd rather you put time and energy in the other sections, the character sheet always helps me flesh out my character. Here you can put intended build information if you have one in mind, and any other crunchy concepts and notes.
