Keeping on the move, Jared heads past the doorway, for a moment he considers taking it but quickly decides his best bet for survival is to stick with the others. As he moves behind John he snaps his rod in the direction of Vicky and Jack, sending a stream of dark shadows out towards them.
If at first you don't succeed, ZhuGuan backs up and repeats his last attack. ZhuGuan suppresses a nagging concern about these fleshy flying beasts. Come on... connect! The tall half-elf prays as he cuts at the strangely colored Stirge again, but still he misses his target.
"Don't try to burn or freeze the purple one, either!" Jack calls out as he tries to hit the same one again.
When Jack Fox decides to abandon fighting the two stirge on him and attack the purple-colored fiendish stirge threatening Vicky he finds the decision to be a mistake. Both stirge take advantage of his momentary lapse of defense as he tries to move to a better location. They both attack him and try to latch onto the dragon man. Vicky stretches out a weak hand, and spectral vines spring out from behind the stirge next to her as it tries to attack Jack Fox. The vines pull the creature away from Jack -

pale. Jack is unable to move on to where he wanted to go from the weakness. He swings at the fiendish stirge from his current position, but misses it with his attack.
Allyria frowns, taking a deep breath as she sees Jack get swarmed. She pulls its attention away from him, and prepares her defenses for its attack. As she does so, she channels her own life energy towards the dragonborn, trying desperately to keep him on his feet.
While Vicky isn't very comfortable having a blood-sucking huge insect attached to herself, she sees the advantage of it; at least the creature won't be bothering anyone else. She strikes out with a thunderous attack against the one that attempted to latch on to Jack. Her sword connects, yielding a satisfying sound mixing the boom of thunder and the crunch of the stirge's carapace being penetrated.
"They are fairly weak. Ignore this big one, take the small ones first," she tells the others. '... I'm not awfully happy about it getting more of my blood than strictly necessary, but it's probably the fastest way to end the fight,' she tries to convince herself.
Keeping on the move, Jared heads past the doorway, for a moment he considers taking it but quickly decides his best bet for survival is to stick with the others. As he moves behind John he snaps his rod in the direction of Vicky and Jack, sending a stream of dark shadows out towards them. The shadows fail to hit the larger stirge currently draining the life from Vicky, but he does manage to hit the other one. The force of the attack causes it to be pushed back into the corner.
John smiles as one of the stirge is pushed a good distance from the group. John swings his sword again at the one he hit before and Vicky struck a few seconds before. His attack isn't well aimed, and he misses the fluttering creature. The stirge that got pushed back into the corner slowly begins flying back to the battle. It decides to steer clear of Vicky and instead moves to the other side of Jack Fox, closer to ZhuGuan Yu. It takes all of its effort to make it that far.
The stirge being attacked by Vicky and John tries to latch onto Vicky again, but cannot find a good place to attach to her. The other two stirge just continue to feed.
