Welcome adventurer! Though this place is known by many names: The Dreaming Dragon, The Inn-Between Worlds, The Inn of Infinite Doors... there are other names too but most of us just call it the Crossroads Inn. Hopefully, like many of us, you'll come to think of this place as 'home'.
You can call me 'The Hostess', because that's what I do here and I don't remember having any other name.
I know this is all very confusing. No one comes here on purpose. But, now you're here, so make the best of things! Here, let me show you around...

The Crossroads Inn is now recruiting DMs! (sorry, we are not recruiting players yet, that should be in about a couple weeks).

Are you a DM for Dungeons and Dragons 3.5 edition? Are you looking for a great way to try lots of different adventures and meet lots of different kinds of players? Have you ever just wanted to try running a particular kind of one shot but didn't want to commit to a whole campaign? Ever want to run adventures with no long term ramifications to deal with?

The Crossroads Inn may just be exactly what you're looking for!

So... What exactly is the Crossroads Inn?

The Crossroads Inn is a new kind of game on Myth-Weavers. It has a persistent static setting of an Inn where players meet and obtain quests and travel through dimensional doors that take them to literally any kind of world or adventure that you can come up with in any kind of setting you would like to run! Characters can thus literally jump into game worlds with random parties and play out adventures of any kind imaginable with very minimal restrictions. An entire team of DMs runs various adventures of any kind they wish and players are free to play in any of the games they qualify for.

But what about all the problems that happen with having lots of DMs and continuity and other things and stuff..?

Not to worry, we figured it out. Stay tuned to figure out how.

Now that you know about what's up... Lets find out if the Crossroads Inn is right for you, shall we?

Prerequisites: Though the Crossroads Inn is a great place for brand new players, we have decided that DMs must have some experience. Please view the prerequisites page in full.

House Rules: For the sake of simplicity, house rules are kept to an absolute minimum and provide the easiest solutions to the problems inherent to a game of this type. The game has been balanced to be fair to both DMs and Players without stifling the creativity of either.

Character Creation Rules: Similar to house rules, character creation rules are kept to a minimum to allow maximum access for new players.

There are just a few questions we need you to answer before we can accept your application.

PLEASE, only answer these questions in private tags that list me as the viewer. Not doing so is an automatic failure and will ruin the questions for everyone else. Not knowing an answer or getting a question wrong does not necessarily exclude you from this game. If you can be brought up to speed with minimal efforts we will be happy to accept you anyway.

1) What is WBL and how does it work at the inn? What happens if a character only earns 1/3 of a level from an adventure?

2) How many ability scores of 18 can you achieve with a 32 point build?

3)You decide to design an adventure that should take two characters of 3rd level to someplace in the middle of 5th level. What should the total XP reward per character be for that adventure in order to be certain of accomplishing this without pushing them all the way to 6th level? How much IG should the adventure offer each character?

In that adventure, which of the following creatures would be the least appropriate to use for a combat encounter, either singly or in a group? Consider the creatures as presented in the MM, without advancement or class levels added.

4. gray render

4) When do players earn IG and how does it work? When is it given? When does a player level up?

5) If a level 5 human fighter with an int of 12 takes 1 level in rogue what would his skill points be?

6) What is the highest level a player can achieve with an Ogre fighter in this game?

7) Please link your game that meets the requirement of being a DM at the Crossroads Inn.

By applying you agree you meet all of the prerequisites and agree to all of the terms laid out. You also state you understand the game rules may change at any time as needed, though a week long announcement is standard before new rules generally take effect.

If you answer correctly you will be sent two game invites you must accept and receive a link to your DM orientation where you will meet with the other DMs, get to ask questions and run adventures.

Just one last thing to address... Player invites...

When will you be recruiting players?

Firstly, yes, as a DM you can also be a player but you are given back of the line status for adventuring. Players that are only players will be given priority and other DMs have the right to refuse having a DM in their game without explanation.

All other player invites will be sent out as Invite only at first to prevent a massive mob from flooding the game that the DMs are not prepared to handle. A slow leak will be easier to control while open recruiting to anyone could potentially cause severe opening of the floodgates type issues.

As needed additional invites will be sent out and potentially recruitment ads will be put up. New players will also recruited directly from the Introductions board, but all of these recruitments will be handled ONLY by the founders unless otherwise directed by the Head GM.
