DnD3.5e: Ghoul Fever

Ghoul Fever

Hi there,

When using a ghoul in a monster encounter, does ghoul fever become a factor with each bite it successfully makes? I realize that there's a 1 day incubation period, but I'm trying to figure just how often the players need to make Fortitude saves. If each bite has the effects of ghoul fever with it, does this mean that the bite has the potential to induce both paralysis and ghoul fever?

Yes, ghoul fever is a factor in every successful bite... at least until they become infected. Once they've failed the Fort save against the fever, you can stop rolling for it, as they're already infected and will just have to wait until the next day. Then the fun begins!

Paralysis, of course, is a factor in every single bite and claw attack a ghoul makes.
