Whisper
Race : Wood Elf
Class : Soulknife
Alignment : CG
Whisper wears a light tan shirt with a dark green vest on top. He wears dark brown pants that have green trimming that matches his vest. He tends to wear his fiery red hair in a ponytail that flows down his back and he has a small key on a silver chain around his neck. His eyes are brilliant orbs of red that match his hair.
Whisper is first and foremost, very shy. Since he has had a very traumatic experience as a young child, he is slow to trust strangers, although his few friends, like Neyavan the Druid and Ratchet, a halfling rogue, know he is very loyal and trustworthy. He has a weakness for hot foods, and he also enjoys viewing architecture from a distance. Whisper dislikes wizards due to their tendency to treat him like an object to study, and likes sorcerers, as they have little control over their powers when they first receive them.
Whisper's village was razed by a warband of Dark Elves, the Drow, on the night of Rising Shadows. On this night, Dark elves poured out from the Underdark to strike at their surface cousins across the region, wiping out several villages and decimation many more. Miraculously, Whisper was saved by the great druid Neya. She had felt the evil intrusion and was able to call on the forest's powers to protect a few Wood elves, including Whisper. Whisper was the only child left alive, and Neya raised him as her own with her own daughter, Neyavan. His only possessions from his village were a small music box (Plays the Song of Inspiration), and the key that winds it.
Whisper was raised to understand and appreciate nature, and he attempted to learn the ways of a druid. This path did not fit him however, as his ancestry had predetermined a different path.
As he grew older, nightmares from the raid haunted, causing mental mental problems that eventually led to the birth of his psionic powers. Fueled with rage and fear, his powers consumed and controlled him, damaging the forest and nearly killing his Neyavan. He was stopped by his guardian, and he saw his powers as a curse as a result of the raid. Neya helped him view it as a blessing, a way to get back at the Drow and protect what was important to him. Under her strict tutelage, he trained diligently to master and control his powers. By meditating for an hour every morning and listening to his family's music box, he was able to curb his wild powers and regain control.
After learning the key to controlling his powers, Whisper was sent to Caer Postan, a small castle town ruled by the Postans, a small family that has been known for the fair treatment of their subjects. He was to be an emissary between the Great Druid and the Postans. Here, he met Ratchet, an amusing halfling that always seems to get in trouble. They became friends over the years, and they now travel together in their free time. It was through the halfling that he learned of the Devil's Island, and when he mentioned it to Neya, she seemed pleased he wanted to travel there. She suggested to Neyavan to go as well, to attend to the wilderness there and to start her own grove. Sad at leaving, but pleased at moving on, the three set off to the Devil's Island.
