Drugs, or something... sinister?

Miami news sources say a naked, crazed man assaulted another, and started to gnaw, yes gnaw on his face. When police confronted the crazed man he did not respond, and the officer was forced to shoot him. Even so, he KEPT GNAWING on the victim! The officer then discharge his entire clip into the crazed man, and the gnawing man died.

The victim was taken to hospital, but no word on his condition as yet. Here's hoping the poor guy will be okay, but wow. Zombie assault anyone?

Considering real world zombies are caused by drugs...
(tetraditoxin and others to help remove the victims will)

Patient zero in the zombie apocalypse is what I'm betting on. Saying he was crazed and on drugs is exactly the kind of thing the government would say at the start of the zombie apocalypse when the first one shows up.

No worries. If it was a zombie, then at least it's not very contagious, otherwise the victim would also be afflicted by now.

Sounds like it's drugs. Mephedrone really ****s you up.

I do recall reading somewhere that the fellow who was partially eaten, lost his eyes.

The consensus appears to be bath salts/Mephedrone.

There have been other reports of similar cases with the same drug.

So, the zombies are caused by drugs instead of voodoo. Not sure how that makes it better, actually...

Voodoo zombies are created by drugs. Only difference is that voodoo zombies are created by Boccor who carefully handle the situation to make a person docile and enslaved. This is in many ways the exact opposite, but mor etrue to a movie zombie... mindless violence and canibalism.

An eye, last I checked - but the other one might succumb to infection if he's spectacularly unlucky.
