Description: As a halfling, it goes without saying that Noël is short; at not quite three feet she's even a little below average. Her slender build is topped by a crown of

grey-white hair that falls not quite to her shoulders. Her wide, blue eyes display an almost constant curiosity, though her plain face is rarely graced by a smile.
Noël is as curious as she looks, driven to adventure and, just as often, trouble. Beset by the wanderlust common among halflings, though for her it's not the distance that counts, merely the novelty; a small town might contain a wealth of hidden nooks and crannies. While she's reluctant about killing, she loves her occupation's primary role: espianoge. Her family back in Minkai concerns her occasionally, but she's usually kept busy enough to put it out of her mind.
Obviously, as an agent of the Empire, she doesn't make her profession known. Her story would be that she's serving as a courier for a noble in Minkai; not entirely untrue. They'd also know that she grew up as the daughter of a fisherman, more or less a peasant.
Noël spent the early years of her life in a small village on the western coast of Tian Xia in a fairly remote part of the Minkai Empire. Her family, like most in their town, primarily subsisted on fishing and Noël spent a good deal of her time working to help support her two younger brothers.
As the political situation in Minkai became more tense, somewhere around Noël's early teen years, many of the nobles began to '

recuit ' expendable spies from the lower classes; usually with an implied threat to family to ensure loyalty.
Noël was 'recruited' at the age of seventeen, she spent two years in a hidden training camp being taught the basics of stealth and espionage. At the conclusion of the training camp, she was used for just over a year monitoring minor nobles for her lord before being sent abroad. She hasn't been home in the three years since, though she does occasionally recieve 'updates' to her family's status along with her orders.
Her most recent mission (and the reason for being on the boat) has been to locate and apprehend a Minkai national who fled the country some years ago after falling from power.
Noël has three primary ambitions, though they're somewhat interconnected. Like many halflings, she suffers from a form of wanderlust and is eternally curious. She likes to know how things work and have new experiences. When given an opportunity to try something new, she'll almost always go for it, usually with less caution than is prudent.
While her 'recruitment' could certainly be considered abduction and blackmail, she doesn't hate her leige (certainly indoctrination may have something to do with that) and exhibits a good deal of loyalty to her mission. She's not the "at any cost" sort of person, but she will always try her best to get the job done.
Lastly, though she tries hard not to think about it, Noël has a great deal of concern for her family. Though she knows they're in danger if she displeases her lord, she hasn't yet thought of a way to help them out. If a chance presented itself, she might even abandon her mission to rescue them. In the meantime, this manifests as a willingness to help others maintain their familial bonds (biological families or otherwise)
