| Interesting concept, I spent a few years playing a troll rogue, I gave a little thought to RPing the character but sadly didn't see much opportunity seeing as every one was satisfied to rush through the instances and quests. I always got the sense that I was missing out on an amazing story. My only problem would be that I stopped playing around the same time cataclysm came out. Did I miss out on some necessary lore that would hinder my ability to play in this prepandarien time? |
The world's gone to hell, Ragnaros invaded Mt. Hyjal, which brought back Malfurian, Cenarius and a bunch of other Night Elven demi-gods...
Thrall has gotten married to a nice shaman woman he met in Outland named Aggra, they were blessed by Alexstraza and they're having children soon...
Speaking of Thrall and the Dragon Aspects... for about an hour Thrall was the Dragon Aspect of Earth, but now all the Dragon Aspects have lost they're power and are mortal... extremely powerful mortals but mortals.
Goblins and Worgen are everywhere... well not everywhere but they're around. In Garrosh's Horde the goblins have monetized pretty much everything, the Horde is now a profitable machine that answers to a rage-obsessed neanderthal... (As a note, as per the novels certain exotic races such as the various "-taur" races and such are viable members of the Horde)
The Worgen have thrown off their curse and are BFFs with the Night Elves, even if it is all Malfurian's fault...
The Druids of the world are still a bit shaky from Staghelm's betrayal and the creation of the Druids of the Flame, some have big chips on their shoulders about it, others are focusing on healing the world. Shamans on the other hand are BUSY AS HELL, the world has suffered immensely, the elements are confused and in pain but wounds are healing. Thrall's work to stop the damage ultimately caused by Deathwing bore some fruit, but he's left most of those duties now to others as he works to cement his ultimate wish of a family and determine his plans for the future of the Horde...
The dwarves are in a bit of an uproar since Magni is now a giant diamond statue and the Dark Irons now have a seat on the newly semi-official Three-Hammers Council.
With Deathwing now dead and exploratory forces sweeping across the world looking for resources (this is a HUGE focus of both factions currently) and Pandarens making their way into culture, things all together seem fairly peaceful at the moment... but other than that... I mean there's TONS of Lore, but those are pretty much the biggins...
