Defense Excitement Building Again

The pony seemed to avoid all of Zip's swings, furthermore, since he had established his rhythm, he managed to catch Zip's pole.

He pulled back a hoof and struck at the pole.

He yanked it back quickly, but the pole was too long to get it all out of the way in time. "No!" He watched in horror as it was caught at the very end, making it twist right out of his grasp and fly out over the edge into the never ending darkness that surrounded them. Zip stood there in fear watching the red DJ, he knew this was the time to start making some quick decisions in order to save himself. But all he could think about right now was how vulnerable he seemed without his weapon, Sunny being unconscious, and the way his enemy was glaring at was probably the most terrified he's felt so far this journey...

Zip didn't know what to do. He kept telling himself over and over he needed to get out of here... he needed to run. Go...go now Zip. While you still have time to save yourself... This battle is not worth continuing... so move! He backed up a bit, keeping his eyes on the other stallion, while moving over to Sunny. He could carry her on his back.. escape..somehow.

"Che... you're hesitating..." he taunted, before quickly stepping in and delivering a practiced strike towards the body.

He ducked out of the way at the next strikes, now snapping back into reality and hurrying up at putting Sunny on his back.

He lifted her up, and started to zoom away on his skates... Zip knew he needed to get distance between them if he was going to go through with his next plan..

Quickness to Chase [[You put a distance of 4 between you and your enemy.]]

The battered and bruised unicorn looked really upset to see Zip run away after all of that. He chased after him, but even with the burden of another pony riding him, Zip was too fast on his skates for the blood stained pony, but it didn't seem like Zip could lose him entirely either.

"No... you have... to... stop... him..." Sunny, who had begun to come to complained as Zip began carrying her away. However, she didn't have much fight left in her to struggle.

She pointed forward.

"The chains... Break the chains... Zip... You have to... stop him..." Sunnyday finally pointed out. Ahead of Zip, the rusted chains looked like they would give way, even if he just lightly struck them as he ran. Eventually one of them might break.

Zip was already planning on doing that, but was so relieved to see Sunny was...well...alive.
"S-Sunny? Oh god, you're okay.. Don't worry, I'll take care of him. I'll get us out of here Sunny!" he promised. And with that came to an abrupt halt, bucking, biting, hitting..any thing to make the chains snap. "Come on...come on!..." he grumbled through clenched teeth.

"What?! No... You fool! You'll doom us all!" he screamed the cliche villain line when he realized what they were up to.

Quickness to Flee

It did not take much for the rusted chain to give way. It snapped as Zip pulled it apart. As soon as he did, the whole walkway shuddered, falling about an inch and angling off center. Sunny couldn't let out a short shriek, but managed to keep herself from slipping off the walkway.

Meanwhile, the unicorn let out a few expletives, as he raced to make it to the exit. He managed to close the distance between him and Zip, as well as pass him. He seemed focused fully on making it to the exit, not stopping to deal with Zip or Sunny at all, and for good reason. As soon as Zip destroyed the chain, the straining and groaning whining sounds coming from the rest of the chains began to grow louder. Soon, the sound of snapping chains began to echo out throughout the darkness. The walkway shuddered and trembled. The wobbling made it difficult for Sunny and Zip to keep balance, but the unicorn still had his rhythm, so he seemed to move without much difficulty.

Zippity's adrenaline kicked in as the whole walkway started to just fall apart. He needed to get out of there NOW. He took off with Sunny, trying to make it to the exit before the villain. "Erg...HOLD ON!" he warned Sunny as she gripped him tightly.

It didn't take Zip much time to kick it into high gear. He quickly out paced the blonde pony.

[[7 pace lead for Zip]]

The bloodied unicorn saw Zip zip by, and resolved himself to go faster. All the while everything began to fall apart around them.

Zip's lead was short lived, the DJ managed to just barely keep pace with him after spurring himself forward.

Zippity pulled ahead again, this time moving over and getting infront of the DJ. He wasn't about to let him survive this darn it. Feeling a stir of madness in himself and hate for this pony, zip wanted to make sure he didn't. He gave a good hard kick in the DJ ponies face, hoping that would slow him down enough...
