A bit of an oddball for a Phoenix. In a Clan often bound in tradition he tends to buck authority and tradition or at least that is the perception held by most. A priest born to a Family of bushi given the honor of attending the greatest shugenja school in Rokugan. Traditionally Shiba who attend the Isawa school take the Isawa name at their gempukku, especially one as low born as Mokushi, so when he kept his Family name there were murmurings within the Isawa ranks, Isawa Tomo the Master of Water particularly has nothing nice to say about Shiba Mokushi. Regardless he holds to his honor and when his sensei, Isawa Ushio, asked him to meet the last of the Akodo at the Imperial City and follow his orders for the good of the Empire, Mokushi did not hesitate. Being a free spirit that he is an adventure sounds like a wonderful idea, even at another's command. Mokushi's joy of travel is fueled by his own path as the Shiba are hesitant to order a priest to take up a duty and the Isawa want nothing to do to him, generally speaking. Still a shugenja of his potential will play a part in the coming strife, the only question is will he survive long enough to make a difference.
