Attack The Darkness

John hides his nose with his arm to try and block the smell but it doesn't help "Oh come on man, you really need to get that smell under control. I'm the one who's dead. Good try to kill Styg thou" Johns eyes sting even worst standing next to Guan.

Richard wrinkles up his nose as a wave of bad smell comes his way. "What the hell is that smell, Hey Jared, have you just dropped one?

Attack The Darkness - Round 3

John looks back at Jared, "will you stop scaring them away I want to kill something."

"Stop moaning, and kill them if it means that much to you." Jared snarls, his voice laced with what can only be described as a darkness.

Styg, dazed again and feeling picked on by just about everything in this place, decides to get mean and crafty. Going through a burst of activity he takes a breather despite being grabbed and smothered by the creatures. Then he ignites the cold fires of his armor of Agathys. Stalling for time is all he has now. The arcane energies don't look like they will do much against these protected aberrations.

John puts his mind in his blade and sends out a psychic blast from his blade. Aimed at the Dark mantle next to Styg. "Get off of him and attack me!"The power strikes the darkmantle, making Styg invisible to the creature. Unfortunately, invisibility isn't a problem when a creature can already sense the hidden and invisible.

Jared moves up behind John. He doesn't travel far before he seems to begin to merge with the dimness of the corridor. Shadows again stream out from the halfling and undulate down the corridor towards Styg. Jared's attack knocks back one of the darkmantles away from Styg.

Richard tries to shake of the dazed feeling he has been subjected to. He then attempts to attack the Darkmantle in front of him as he takes a step forward. Richard tries to help Styg, but misses with his attack. Styg and Guan are inspired by Richard's attack, and make a couple of quick attacks of their own. Styg, despite being grabbed by one last darkmantle manages to strike the creature. His strike slides the darkmantle off of him and into the corner near Guan.

The stress of the battle has caused ZhuGuan Yu to start sweating profusely. As he swings he loses the grip on his weapon and it flies to the north. Styg manages to duck out of the way of the errant weapon as it clatters to the

ground right in front of the darkmantle Jared had moved. Sweat pours into Guan's eyes as he realizes that he has no weapon any longer. The sweat is pouring so badly that he can't see a thing. Worse than that, with the sweat has come a terrible odor that just ripples off him in waves. John is close enough to notice the terrible B.O. which is actually making the revenant nauseous.

John hides his nose with his arm to try and block the smell but it doesn't help "Oh come on man, you really need to get that smell under control. I'm the one who's dead. Good try to kill Styg thou" Johns eyes sting even worst standing next to Guan.

Vicky, seeing the others wounded badly, tries to call up the help of the spirits. It takes her a few moments to remember why they aren't responding to her plea. Failing that, she tries to finish off one of the wounded ones, so they at least have fewer to fight. She manages to hurt one of the two in the doorway, causing some confusion in it's mind - making it react a little slower than it should.

Richard wrinkles up his nose as a wave of bad smell comes his way. "What the hell is that smell, Hey Jared, have you just dropped one?"

Not wanting to charge into a whole horde of the darkmantles, but also not wanting to look like too much of a coward (though he still can't deny that fact), Turag enters the southern corridor to fight the lone darkmantle. At least here he is protected somewhat from the smell radiating off the half-elf. He swings his axe taking a chunk out of the door frame behind him which causes him to completely miss the lone target. Now Turag begins to worry.

"A little help?"

Cries Turag

The darkmantle that Vicky attacked moves up slowly towards the unarmed Guan. It tries to wrap itself around Guan, but the odorous stench gives it some pause. It doesn't manage to connect with the half-elf. The other one in the doorway moves over towards Richard, cutting Styg off from leaving the room if he wanted to. It wraps itself around Richard,

biting the warlord, and there seems to be an addition explosion of necrotic energy upon contact with Richard. It looked like Styg was about to try and jump in front of the attack, but the doorway blocked him from doing so.

The cold arcane fire surrounding Styg doesn't seem to affect the nearby darkmantle as he had hoped it would. It wants to wrap itself around Styg but between the doorway and the nearby darkmantle, it is having trouble doing so. Instead it whips around the door frame at Styg with a tentacle, but misses the shade. The darkmantle that had been hiding in the far room makes it's way back out. It tries to move up to get into a better position near Guan. Even though the half-elf can't see well, he still takes a swing at the creature but misses it.

Turag quickly finds himself in deep trouble as the creature he tried to attack moves over and grabs hold of him. It wraps it's tentacles around him and begins

biting. Then comes the next shriek. The darkmantle trapped in the room with Styg moves up and let's go with a sonic burst. Again Guan seems to be immune to the sonic cry, as does Vicky, but Styg, Richard and Turag all feel the shriek

necrotic against Richard causing the Warlord to collapse to the ground. One of the darkmantles is still attached to him, gnawing at his dying body.

Styg's mystic armor protected him from much of the damage, but he still finds himself woozy from the assault. And the creature isn't finished yet. It tries to wrap around Styg, but the weakened warlock barely manages to keep the beast at bay. He can't help but think that this battle is going much worse than the last one did.

ZhuGuan, half-elf

"Damn," ZhuGuan curses as sweat pours in rivulets and the loss of his weapon. "Sometimes, I hate this body."

He watches as Richard falls to the darkmantle's suffocation. He pulls out a jagged dagger of his own make. It's handle wrapped in rags scavenged from the dungeon and attempts to savage the wounded darkmantle in front of him. He hopes he can thin their ranks enough to help their wounded companion.
