Sugo was a loyal, God-Emperor loving member of the imperium once, long ago. Or at least as much as possible for one born to the lowest dregs of imperial society. His early years were spent running with one of the feral underhive gangs scavenging for meagre scrapes and viciously protecting their territory from rival gangs. Sugo was a wiry youth never having the overt muscle mass required to be a gang bouncer. Instead he used his used his glib mouth and his budging psychic talents to hold his own within the gangs power structure. It was this that changed the course of his fate. With the typical heavy handedness of a totalitarian theocracy the adeptus arbites would periodically sweep through the underhive’s in conjunction with the local police force, referred to by the gangers as ‘the purge’. Sugo was but one of a number of gangers unfortunate enough to be picked up by the latest sweep. However where the other gangers were judged and condemned to various penal sentences Sugo, when his rogue psychic talents were discovered, was held in a dank cell until one of the black ships of the Inquisitions arrived to take him to Terra.

The black ship was a living hell. An insistent moan forever resounded through the cells. A psychic echo from the suffering of the thousands of psykers soaked into the walls and bulkheads. Sugo found what small amount of love he had for the God-Emperor turning to a souring hatred of the imperium and everything it stands for. It was fate’s fickle nature shifting once again that saw the ship and is cargo of precious psyker flesh crashing through a warp rift to lie adrift on the edge of the screaming vortex. It really is no surprise that the local pirates and opportunist corsairs would flock to the stricken vessel hoping to pillage. Sugo was taken aboard a degenerate vessel ruled by a powerful renegade psyker called Ezra Kane. Kane forced his captured psykers to battle each other in ritual duels. The loser being sacrificed to increase Kane psychic might. Sugo witnessed Kane’s dedication to the chaos gods and the power such devotion got him and wanted it for himself. So set his sights on achieving this loftiest of goals.

Alright guys its nice to see some interest now. So I feel like I could change the due date to the 16th. I hope this is fine for people as I don't want to rush people but instead would like to get this underway.

Originally born on a backwater Imperial world, Nicodemus was nothing special as a child. It wasn't until his powers began to manifest in his teens that his life took a turn for the interesting. The Imperial authorities on planet were somewhat lax in their duties, and he was able to stay under the radar and avoid being given over to the Black Ships. However, Nico's powers tended toward pyromancy, making it hard to hide them so long as he stayed at home. To keep his powers secret, Nico left his home behind and lived as a drifter in the planet's capital, getting by on what he could scavenge and relying on his powers to stay warm and safe.

During his years on the streets, Nico stumbled across a fledgling cult to the Changer of Ways. Whether by luck or part of Tzeentch's plan, the cultists were kind to Nico, especially after they discovered his powers. The cult leader, an off-world sorcerer, offered to take the younger psyker under his tutelage. However, Nico's survival instincts screamed at him to get away from the cult, knowing that the authorities would come down upon such a group with a vengeance.

He was proven right one night. An Arbites raid on the cult's safehouse occurred not long after Nico had left for the evening. Sneaking back to the safehouse when he heard the gunfire, he saw the front of the building vaporize in a blast of crimson warpflame. The old sorcerer stepped out of the ruin, shrouded in orange and green flames and delivering death and destruction upon the assembled troopers. The warp-fueled onslaught lasted a few minutes, until a lucky shot from a marksman killed the tiring sorcerer where he stood.

Though his instincts were proven right, Nico mentally kicked himself as he snuck away from the scene. He had never understood just what the sorcerer had meant when he'd spoken of the powers Tzeentch could grant, but now that he had witnessed what a follower of Tzeentch was capable of, he wanted to learn more. Furious with himself for not learning anything while he had the chance, Nico used some of his street contacts to stow aboard a shuttle heading off planet a few weeks later, determined to head out amongst the stars to track down all he could learn of the Changer of Ways and the power he could offer...
