Red Hand Reunion - Round 2

Vegan jumps up and pulls out his swords with a fright, he exclaims, "more damn undead."

Vegan charges up hid sword with radiant energy and fires at the wight. After Vegan fires off his poorly aimed shot of radiant energy, the wight chuckles and laughs as if unafraid. The attack came nowhere near him. He then calmly commands, "Arissssse, my warriorssssss!"

Suddenly the three piles of bones scattered around the room begin to swirl into the air. Spinal columns assemble, legs attach to hip bones, and weapons and shields are suddenly at hand. In place of the piles of bones, are now fully armed
skeletons. What's more is that it sounded like there were more skeletons assembling off in the darkness. Somehow the lispy command has caused these piles of bone to form into undead soldiers.

Tink. Tink. Tink. A small metal sphere rolls out into the middle of the room, unfurls itself and hovers in the air. It's magic helping to keep the enemies from being obscured.

Dawn stands from her position behind Slygoth and the pillar. Her mechanical Punishing Eye recharged after the night's rest. "We're lucky they didn't come after us when Sinruth did," Dawn replies. She drops the everburning torch on the ground as she needs her hands free; hefting Sally and slotting a bolt with a crank of crossbow.

"Panitari, you might want to back up a bit," the artificer warned.

Yes, you are very right... Dawn hears Panitari in her mind.

Then as Panitari starts to move back she distracts the Deathlock Wight by having him see spots before his eyes and the sends a wave of doom through his and the Boneshard Skeleton minds. Though she can't tell visually, she is pretty sure that her attack hurt the wight. As Panitari moves back, the light retreats with her. The thrones and it's occupants are no longer visible to

anyone. Neither is the westernmost skeleton. Only the two skeletons closest to Vegan remain in the halo of light, and the northern most

skeleton is just in it's shadows.

"How many?" Slygoth says scanning the hallway. "If there are too many We should move back into the corridor." He decides to wait for the moment, showing a rare shred of caution. He gives the creatures a chance to come to him first.

Vegan glances back at Slygoth, "there's two over there by the throne, he might be able to call more skeletons."

Bel aims, and fires an arrow into the skeleton straight out from hallway. Bel's arrow catches the skull of the

skeleton and takes it off the spinal column and plants it into the northern wall. The rest of the skeleton falls apart after its head is taken off. The wight begins to laugh again as his warrior is destroyed before his eyes.

"There looks to be four enemies now," says Panitari after Bel dispatches one of them.

"Sssssuch good aim... sssstep clossssser Belegveril.... or do you prefer to go by Bonegnasher these days?" comes the nearly excited sounding voice. Though raspy from years of decay, Bel is starting to hear a familiarity in it.

Sengir takes his turn and rushes forward to the sound of battle. As the cleric charges into the room the wight hisses from the darkness, "Oh look... you brought a cleric with you. How... vile..."

Taking a look at the scene Sengir knows this is something he was meant to be at. A chance to destroy more undead is always a welcomed thing for him. Continuing his movement he stops ahead, and throws out a lance of radiant energy at the skeleton near Vegan, but he doesn't manage to hit the creature.

Bel is quite taken aback at the familiarity the undead takes with her. Even daring to use that name. That voice.... so familiar... it sounds like her father's voice, only a little younger perhaps. It's been ten years since her father was killed by the Red Hand. Then things start click, the clockwork cogs line up and revelation mixed with horror crosses Bel's face. Her brother would be 10 years older too... his body was never found. He's been missing since the elves of the Black Fens went to war with the Red Hand. Could it be true? Has her brother become this undead wight?

She screams out and then finds her voice, which shouts questions in anger, "Badhron what happened to you? How did you end up like this? What of our father? Is Addy still alive, do you have her?" She is stuck, frozen in place by the terror of knowing her brother is some kind of intelligent undead monstrosity now...

Vegan looks in Bel's direction, but he cannot see the archer very clearly. "Is this someone you know?" He asks.

"Slygoth and Sinruth, Bel and... that thing... You keep strange company," she says to the others as she sends bolts down the darkened room.

"Temper, temper my dear sssssweet ssssisssster...." The wight's body creaks in the darkness, perhaps the creature has stood up from his seat on the throne. It is too dark to tell. "Maybe we ssshould have more privacsssssy to disssscussss family matterssss."

Slygoth suddenly gets the impression that the wight is about to pull a fast one, perhaps sending everyone except for Bel away somehow. He can't leave her stranded here alone against so many foes. He bravely charges off into the darkness towards the area the throne had been. Dawn's Punishing eye will help guide his weapon, but he'll be left in the dark if he's wrong. He feels his axe bite into the skeleton, and then feels it clip the wight.

Slygoth suddenly feels his body tingling, so does Vegan, Panitari & Dawn. Suddenly they all vanish from the room, taking some of the light with them. Luckily Dawn had to drop the torch when she pulled out her crossbow or Bel and Sengir would be completely blind. They can still see Dawn's Punishing Eye contraption floating in the room. Sengir notices a light appear to the west. He can see Panitari, but she has her back to them now. It appears she is in another room, but he can't see Slygoth or any of the others with her.

"Much better...." exclaims Badhron. "Now I get ssssome alone time with my ssssissster. Just me and my undead to dessstroy my sssissster and a ssservant of the bitch sssissster of Ssshar! I think I'll kill the priessst first, out of family respect."

The one skeleton that is visible aims it's shortbow at Sengir and let's an arrow go. The arrow completely misses Sengir. He hears three more arrows get fired from the darkness. Two arrows fly out of the darkness and

stick into the priest, but he never sees what happened to the third arrow he heard fired off. Then he sees the boneshard skeleton shamble towards him, its scimitar in his hand. It gets right next to Sengir and raises the scimitar, ready to

attack the cleric.

"Worthlesssss." Badhron comments on the fact that Sengir is still alive. "Addy is alive.... not well, but alive.... but ssshe may not be for long. Your companionsss will sscertainly kill her."

Dawn and Panitari appear together in a room. They are near each other, but not adjacent to each other. Panitari finds herself between two columns similar to the ones she had been standing near. She sees four square columns in the room in front of her, Dawn is standing next to one of them. There is a set of doors to the south as well as a burning cauldron providing additional light to the room, and Panitari and Dawn can still hear the wight talking coming from behind them.

Dawn doesn't recall seeing this chamber in the pool, and she would certainly remember the hulking
creature near the center of the square columns. A sinister glare crosses the creature's face as it looks at Panitari, and then Dawn. Then it prepares to attack Dawn. Dawn scans around, but doesn't see her Punishing Eye. It apparently got left behind. An arrow suddenly screams past Panitari coming from behind her. She turns to look behind her and notices Sengir. They aren't very far from where they had been at, but there is still a screen of darkness separating her and Sengir who is apparently all alone against the undead forces. She can't tell where Bel is at.

Slygoth appears in a pitch black room. To the north of him is a large black obelisk. There are two torches in the wall on either side of the obelisk, but the black stone seems to have the same ability as that Black Sun mosaic. The torches are there, but they give off almost no light as it is absorbed, Lines of pews make it clear that this was once a shrine dedicated to that rune-encrusted obelisk. He sees Vegan in the dim light of the room. He is in the north western section of the room. The dim light doesn't touch Slygoth, so he knows that Vegan can't see him. Vegan isn't alone in the room either. Not far from Vegan is a
rat-man and then in the north eastern section of the dim room, Vegan and Slygoth can see three
rats.. Slygoth doesn't notice any of the others in the room... unless they are in the darkness with him.

Being separated has caused a surge of adrenaline to start rushing through all of the heroes. This separation could be the end for them. They have to fight like their lives depend on it, because now more than ever.... they do. They are split up and faced with overwhelming odds.
