Just wanted to clarify, and I don't want to be a rules lawyer about it, does the attack roll you provided include the -4 penalty to convert a usually lethal attack into a non-lethal one? This mechanic simulates the difficulty of using a lethal weapon as a method of knocking someone out. I didn't take the penalty for my first attack last round, so part of the damage I dealt the seaman was lethal.

By my count, and according to Erico's extremely useful combat tracker post, and based on Melanie's ridiculous rolls, I would say that those swordsmen are indeed dealt with. We may have to rejig things, as it appears that Melanie may have downed both swordsmen before Mia even acted. Since there are two remaining crossbowmen, that leaves one for Mia and one for Geoff.

Geoff would have to do a few things to trip the man from his perch.

1. Make a touch attack. This is in place of your regular attack, and isn't affected by armor. Erico might impose a penalty for the sailor's body being against rigging (since your chain might get caught in it too).
2. If this attack succeeds (I'd roll anyways, since it's a pain to wait for confirmation), make a Strength check. Bonuses for sizes greater than Medium or penalties for being smaller than medium apply. Since Geoff is Medium, it's simply 1d20+STR.
3. The opponent makes a Strength or Dexterity check (1d20+STR or 1d20+DEX) plus or minus any bonuses. That's up to the DM to do, and for Erico to determine any benefits or penalties from being up in the rigging while you do that. If you trip him, he may take a fall to the floor and take some nonlethal damage. Not direct, but a great way to take him out of the round while he struggles to his feet and recovers from the fall.

Since it's a standard attack, you can do a move and an attack action, because I don't believe the rigging is close to where the swordsmen were (center deck, blocking the hold).

There's a lot of conjecture in there, but if it helps you decide your actions, it was worth it.
