Born the eldest daughter to a Taldan blacksmith and his wife, she was the 'son' the man never head. Early on Brigid took an interest in the blacksmithy, and had an eye for fashionable embellishments and designs. With Brigid's help her father was able to market is good sturdy wares to more notable and affluent clients. And while a woman isn't supposed to work in a smithy, Brigid did after hours, and when others weren't around, so as not to offend any noble sensibilities and drive away customers.
Reaching a point, the wonderlust of a young adult hit Brigid something fierce. Having not been one for flirting with the young men (or young women) of her home, there was no one asking for young Brigid's hand in marriage. And so Brigid convinced her parents to allow her to journey, as a way of learning new skills and techniques which she could then bring home and teach her father. So far, while Brigid hasn't traveled far, she has learned enough to send copious notes home to her father, with illustrations on various techniques. Not having learned enough, in her mind, Brigid has just joined the Pathfinder Society in hopes of learning more to pass on to her father. The combat training has helped, too.
