They also show Romney winning independents by huge margins, Obama won them by huge in 2008. Undecideds break towards the challenger in the last days of the race.

Those three factors means Romney wins in a landslide.
1. All of the national polls now show a tie or Obama lead in the PV.
2. The "independents" number is now levelling and many of those so-called independents are actually Tea Party supporters.
3. There is no evidence that "undecideds break towards the challenger" is the norm or even common.

We'll see I guess. I have heard your explanations before, I stand by my prediction.

It's leaning Obama right now. I'm not saying a Romney win is impossible, merely more unlikely.

I'm going to take a WAG here and say that Romney wins, everyone who wanted Obama to win is first shocked, then outraged, and then the left accuses the right of stealing the election, voter suppression, and then simply falling back on the notion that republicans are simply racist.

If on the other hand Obama manages to win, I see a massive sales boost for firearms and ammunition manufacturers, a cry on the right of descent into socialism and/or communism, and a (still) locked congress.

I'm pretty sure your prediction is 100% accurate!

The other typical option is not to blame your parties policies but on the way the Obama campaign was run. Axelrod and Messina will certainly be thrown under the bus. Doubly so if MI/MN/PA are lost since he did very little of his negative ad campaign in those states until late. They'll accuse the team of bad tactics on focusing only on OH and other wrong states.

Painting him as a brave martyr who sacrificed a second term to bring the ignorant masses something they don't want (Obamacare) but will love after they're dependent on it is also likely to happen. "He cares more about a $9/mo co-pay on birth control pills than his own re-election." /swoon

It will be interesting for sure.

For those who do not get the reference:

You should probably watch this.
Lincoln won that in a landslide!

I voted for McClellan myself.

(Or at least, I would have if I wasn't with Sykes)
