Character Applications
Put character apps including rolls here. Please use the same post for the rolls and apps, and please for tidiness' sake put any rolls in spoiler tags.
Staring level: 6
Roll 4d6 6 times for stats, drop the lowest from each roll, THEN reroll any 1's. You may do this twice and pick your favorite set. If you hate your rolls then you may do 32 point buy. If you do that just indicate somewhere what your starting stats are before any racial or other kinds of adjustments.
HP is max at 1st level and rolled thereafter. You may reroll 1's but only once and must take the second roll.
Standard wealth by level. If you have any unusual/rare/out-there/powerful magical items, it would be cool if you mentioned somewhere how your character got them, as in this City not just anyone can "buy" magic items. Were they gifts? Plunder? Heirlooms? etc.
Allowed sources: Any except ToB, ToM, Incarnum, Psionics or Eberron (even if something was included in a core book later). Other setting-specific stuff needs to be run by me but I will probably accept it if it's not stupidly overpowered or weird. I draw heavily from Cityscape so I suggest you guys have it. I also encourage use of the Races and Complete series of books. I'm also a fan of the climate-specific books (Frostburn, Stormwrack, Sandstorm) all of which have representative countries in this world. Anything else for 3.0 (if it wasn't explicitly updated) or 3.5 will probably be allowed. Just run stuff by me mmmkay?
I will allow flaws but the flaws have to actually be detrimental somehow and not be canceled out by some other positive aspect of your character.
It would be real swell if you guys actually took a minute to, you know, look over some of the setting info I painstakingly put up for you for the very purpose of making good and interesting characters that may fit in this setting. So please do.
Desired app format is:
Name:
Age:
Race:
Alignment:
Class(es):
Appearance:
Personality:
Background:
You can use a picture for the description or write a description; either way will not influence my decision. (Unless you're a really good writer and write an excellent description...)
Background needs to be meaty and interesting. No generic cut and paste backgrounds please. Please try to tie the setting into the background somehow, whether you lived in the city all your life, or you are just visiting, or whatever. The end of the background ought to at least involve how you ended up in Ninuroth. You could be from anywhere in the world, just as long as now you are in Ninuroth for some reason.
I really really REALLY like good backgrounds and sometimes try to tie in background stuff into the story, so that's more incentive for you guys to get creative! Also it wouldn't hurt in your background to mention where/how you live in the city. Do you rent an apartment? Are you homeless and sleep in the gutters? Are you a clergyman with a room at an abbey? Etc. These logical sorts of things don't usually matter because in most games you're just sleeping outside or in a cave or something.
