New Item?

Here is a concept for a new item. Let me know your thoughts. Name could use help as well as the description -- but I think the concept is cool.

Power Sludge -- cost 50sp per dose

This is a performance enhancing drug, made illegal in most portions of Farland, but still widely used among the dark folk.

Use of this drug is moderately addictive - after using this drug, users must roll a will save (+4 to save on first use, -1 to save on each additional use -- up to a total of -4 on saves) to avoid the addictive affects. Anyone "addicted" to this drug will be willing to do whatever it takes to get more of this drug, once the effects run out (selling items, etc). Anyone addicted will be allowed an additional savings throw after 1 week without use of the drug (will "dry out" during this time), although the penalties to will saves will remain on all future uses.

For a 24 hour period, Power Sludge will provide enhancements as follows +2 str, +2 con, -2 int, -2 wis, -2 chr. The user also becomes extremely irritable and prone towards violence. The user obtains the "rage" ability 1 time for each use (effects are cumulative with the other enhancements).

In addition to the addictive affects, use of Power Sludge also has a 10% (non-cumulative) chance of a -1 permenant consititution loss.

It is.... cheap.... I would assume that with the possible number of addicts, the demand should have pushed up the price to something higher. (like real life drugs..)

It is a good idea, but it may need some minor details included.

First, what is the DC for the Will save? I would say it should be high enough to make addiction an issue for low level characters and since most high level characters shouldn't need this drug, it really doesn't need to be obscenely high. I would put it at DC 16.

Next, isn't 24 hours too long? Shouldn't this be something shorter so that it would not be abusive for low level characters?

Next, clarify clearly what the effects of multiple dosages in a single 24-hour period does: Effects stack? Duration lengthened? Nothing additional?

Lastly, describe the making of the sludge, like the materials needed, the skills needed and who can a potential drug lord learn the making fo this from.

Power Grog -- cost 50 sp per dose

This is a performance enhancing drug, made illegal in most portions of Farland, but still widely used among the dark folk.

Use of this drug is moderately addictive - after using this drug, users must roll a will save (DC:12 to save on first use, -1 to save on each additional use -- max DC:20 on saves) to avoid the addictive affects.

For a 4 hour period, Power Grog will provide enhancements as follows +2 str, +2 con, -2 int, -2 wis, -2 chr. The user also becomes extremely irritable and prone towards violence. The user obtains the "rage" ability 1 time for each use (effects are cumulative with the other enhancements). Multiple uses of this do not stack, but do "restart" the effects and require an additional will save check.

In addition to the addictive affects, use of Power Grog also has a 10% (non-cumulative) chance of a -1 permenant consititution loss.

Power Grog was invented by the personal alchemists of Brathelathor, Lord of Lust, who carefully gaurd the secret of its creation. Rumor has it that the main ingredient to Power Sludge is the sweat and tears of a human in pain.

I like it. It's pretty cool, and the four hour limit, price, and con loss should be sufficient balance.

I don't, however, like the name so much. :)

Any other ideas for a name?
