New: New does not relate to time. An issue shown as new could be many months old, it merely has not been allocated or worked on. A status of new does indicate that we do intend to work on the matter at some point.
Suspended: A suspended issue is one we do not intend to work on during the lifetime of the current release version. All suspended issues will be reviewed during planning for new versions.
