Legio Santo
From Myth-Wiki
Legio Santo, or "The Thousand Saints", is a Goean faith predicated on the concept of an omnipotent, unknowable, unapproachable God. It is fruitless to pray to the God; he does not grant spells, nor does he answer prayers - such things are too small for Him to notice. When a mortal follows the precepts of good strongly enough to warrant his attention, and dies in the cause of goodness, the God may elevate that holy man to the position of Saint. Saints can petition the God successfully on behalf of mortal men, and consequently are the object of most Goean's prayers. There are thousands of saints as of the current campaign year; a new one is chosen every decade, it seems. From the very first Saint, Ibel, the saint of martyrs, to Saint Bartola, the patron saint of artillerymen, firemen, deafness, and lost causes, there is a saint who understands you and can ask for aid on your behalf.
In gaming terms, a cleric of Legio Santo has two domains: The domain of Good and any other domain they choose. Strange, evil, or flat out bizarre domains from non-core sourcebooks are welcome, but the player is responsible for coming up with the name and background of the saint that granted him access to that domain.
