The Royal Family
- King Jared
Has ruled the Kingdom for nearly twenty years. While he is beginning to seriously age, he is still a powerful and energetic figure. He is currently heading an expedition into the Sands to find the source of the Serpent plague.
- Jared the Strong
The King's oldest son. A large man, energetic and aggressive. He is currently the king's proxy on the circuit.
- Sarai
The King's middle child. She is a Sun Priest, and thus formally disowned by the royal family. Nevertheless, she remains a part of the court and rides with the family on their circuit around the Kingdom. She is with the king in the desert.
- Cinder (PC)
The King's youngest son.
- Cinder's Followers: Sehi, Jakem, Jilben, Ke, and Zengan. All are poor young nobles looking to improve their fortunes by swearing to the prince.
- Mahonri
The first king after the approach. Originally a chieftain of the nomadic tribe that invaded and occupied the Valley of the Sun and Moon. Revered as a near legendary hero, though his humanity is well remembered. See Mythic History of the Land
Nobles
- Ripmesh
A lord of the southernmost region of the Kingdom. Well liked by his men, he has been a loyal and honest liege to the king and royal family.
Priests
Cyclic Priests
- Korianther
Once High Master of the Priests of Firmament, now Exhorter of the Cyclic Order, second highest priest in the Heirarchy. Concerned with fortune telling, he is somewhat absent minded and talkative.
- Baligon (Deceased)
High Hierophant of the Cyclic Order. Head of all the temples of the Valley. Killed by poison after speaking to Cinder.
- Rorishek
High Hierophant of the Cyclic Order. Prior to promotion into the Cyclic order was High Master of the Moon.
- Kibhal
Ripmesh's High Priest. A Cyclic priest, he serves as Ripmesh's adviser. He was also sent with Ripmesh's knights to investigate rumors coming from villages along the border of the Sands.
Sun Priests
- Sarai

High Master of the Sun. Leader of the Sun Priests
- Corban (Deceased)
The King's High Priest. Standing second in the hierarchy of the Kingdom's temples, Corban is a powerful figure. A member of the Order of the Cycle, he has been the king's confessor and adviser since before he took the throne.
Moon Priests
- Jessamon (Deceased)
High Mistress of the Moon. Leader of the moon priests. Killed by poison after election to Exhorter.
Other Orders
- Jacob
A priest of the Firmament. Midling/low ranked priest in Ripmesh's realm. Considered odd by many. Lives in Ripmesh's lands.
- Father Daedra (Deceased)
High Master of an order concerned with funeral rites. Known once to Prince Cinder as a knight of the Circuit. Killed by poison after the election for Exhorter.
Warriors & Knights
- Ordo
Prince Cinder's standard bearer. Currently riding to the king with news of Baligon's death.
- Balihor
One of the knights living on Ripmesh's lands. A very old man, perhaps the oldest warrior in the area, he is sworn directly to Cinder, but has remained on Ripmesh's lands.
- Baalican
A member of the King's court, he rides circuit with the royal family. While he is one of the more skilled riders with the king, he is yet an unseasoned warrior.
- Jonas
A nobleman sworn to the King and living on Ripmesh's lands. Considers himself the eleventh best archer in the region. He has attached himself to Cinder, and is working to train the young men who have sworn to the prince. He seems to have odd bits of knowledge.
- Arturis
Captain of the King's knights. Arms master to both princes, and a proponent of a heavy, direct style of fighting and war.
