The Greatswords Rest
The Greatsword’s Rest (Tavern & Inn): The Greatsword’s Rest Tavern & Inn stands on Songmark Street in the city’s Merchant Ward, being two doors west of the Green Leaf Inn (Owned by House Gadean); next door to “Pinky’s” Wondrous Devices and Trinkets… The Greatsword’s Rest Tavern is built of sturdy stonework, with a slate roof and with a upper floor housing Imsh’s private study and guest rooms. Like both of it’s neighboring businesses, the inn announces itself to the watching eye of the city by means of a hanging signboard. The sign reads simply, “The Greatsword’s Rest.” The words are deeply carved in a board weathered to a silvery hue that hangs by two short loops of chain from Imsh’s first great sword firmly wedge point first into the stone just above the front entrance. Imsh built the inn around nine years ago atop the foundations of a old fortified warehouse along Songmark Street, after having the land granted a few years past to him form King Trevyas. Inside, the tavern is a rambling and dingy, but it gives the impression of being comfortable rather than dirty and forbidding. Well-worn flat stone covers the floor, while carved wood paneling ranging in styles from across the lands with an elbow railing usually crowded with not-yet empty tankards. Soft feather stuffed cushions pad the sturdy built benches, and three open stone fire places keep this two-story building warm during the cold winter months, when most of the farmers have only time on their hands. Rich red tapestries depicting great battles (some of which partaking to adventures of Imsh & friends…) hang at intervals along the carved paneled walls. Guests entering from the street step right into the inn’s common room, which is mostly used for dining, drinking, lively music, and dance…the tavern’s common room is large and always-busy, bustling with the curious merchants and wealthy nobles to the common serfs and hungry mercenaries…to the odd creature that wouldn’t be welcome anywhere else… There is always music and laughter filling this place, with the occasional flashy permanent magic spells set up by Celi years past…entertain the crowd and help the small staff out with the work load a busy tavern can bring— two unseen servants grabbing empty tankards and trays to be brought to the wash, serving orders and drinks to their designated tables, and helping the staff with the more rowdy drunken boors, dancing lights flaring around the room at night too light the establishment, and the occasional local and traveling bard to freely grace the small wooden stage at the far end and small space reserved for dancing, for just the chance of a few gold pieces to come their way…

House Speciality Food & Brew: Ayla's Bitter Kiss: A special brew that Imsh picked up on his many travels...a brew that is dark black that stains the lips of the drinker dark and that is very bitter taste at first sip, but soon becomes rather sweet... Imsh named the drink after Ayla more or less a freindly joke...much to her dislike...:P
Soranna Anita (Half-Elf/Female/Age 23/Commoner): She acts as the junior waitress and generally does whatever needs to be done to keep the place running. A youthful very lithe female half-elf of twenty-three years with sandy short cropped blonde hair and twinkling blue eyes and light freckles gracing her cheeks; often enough found in dirt covered garden clothing to the more lady-like gown. She is given to laughter and light-hearted jest, while having a love for music, dancing, and flowers. She is likeable, though some residents of the city regard her as flippant and flighty, but polite and always with a warm smile for anyone entering the tavern…
Artin Hammerslate (Dwarf/Female/Age 49/Rouge): Artin is the senior waitress and kitchen maid that has served for two years at the tavern and usually knows a thing or two about anyone coming through the front doors. An orphaned Dock Ward brat, she has a sharp tongue and a buxom build for a young dwarf woman while having long straight brown hair coming down to the mid of her back and brown eyes. She works hard and rarely smiles, but is often amused by some of the things going about the common room of the tavern.
Darian the Southlander (Human/Male/Age 32/Barbarian): Darian is a weathered, gruff, close-mouthed, and honor bound southerner of mixed human descent that has retired from years of mercenary work after suffering from a grievous wound to his right leg that never has healed properly after repelling gnoll raiders along with Imsh and Dunn near the large frontier village of Shedarik’s Hope in the Frozen Wastelands to the North…coming to work for Imsh as a the head bartender and cook to repay his blood debt that he owes the half-orc for saving his hide more then once… Darian conceals his emotions well, is slow to lose his temper, and knows how to handle rowdy or threatening drunken boors… He is broad shouldered, fair skinned, burly man whose muscular forearms are covered with scars of past battles. His shoulder-length wavy brown hair is tied back with a simple length of beaded hemp rope and his short beard is unkempt while piercing green-blue eyes stare fiercely across the common room for any signs of troublemakers…usually wearing a leather jerkin, breeches, and worn leather boots.
Selene (Razorclaw Shifter/Female/Age 28/?): A ‘were-touched’ from the forested wilderness of the Frozen Wastelands to the North, Selene is the devoted, iron-willed, calm, and similarly close-mouthed mate of Darian the Southlander that has taken up the position of head cook and on occasion taking up the position of waitress when the need be…but preferring the privacy and less crowded kitchen to the hassle and noise of the tavern’s usually crowed common floor. Selene is a exotic beauty resembling a human with very pronounced feline features, having a face with a bestial cast, with a wide, flat nose, large unblinking yellowish cat eyes, pointed fur covered ears, a short cat-like tail, and a light silvery white fur covering the majority of her body with a spotted pattern similar to snow leopards that roam her homeland.
Janyk (Kobold/Male/Age ?/Rouge/Regular): Janyk is a young kobold standing a little over two feet with a lean and slick body covered in tiny bluish-black scales and having large wide ruby red eyes. He wears weather-worn studded leather armor inked black with various tools and sacks all about it for easy reach and concealment of items... The kobold has become a well liked regular face at the tavern best known for his always cheerful demeanor and a child-like fascination of the strange world around him with a habit of starting every sentence with his name, but that’s before he starts hitting the brew a little to hard…the kobold staggers around the tavern floor with bad case of the hiccups dragging a half full tankard behind him and at random moments breaking out into song and awkward dances…at times found sleeping across the top of the bar, table, ceiling rafter, or trying to curl up into someone’s lap…
Myssia Alyre Lonadar (Gnome/Female/Age ?/Wizard/Regular): Tall for a gnome, Myssia stands head and shoulders above most of her kin, though no more than naval high to a human. Her face is thin and frail with sharp features, her ears are adorned with trinkets that hang but a few inches from the tips of her pointed ears, and usually wears flamboyant red robes adorned with white arcane symbols. She has eyes of the fiercest blue, her hair bleached white (usually kept short and wildly styled), and her skin is fairly pale from countless hours with her nose being buried in study back at home in her father’s old study and lab… A highly self-educated gnome wizard, Myssia is unusually levelheaded and rational compared to most others of her race…being more prone to silently reasoning out problems and keeping away from useless pranks and tricks that her race has sadly become known for… She’s strong-willed and has a knack for explaining things in great detail…people often mistake her for being condescending, but she’s actually just trying to be responsible and caring…but lately her demeanor has changed somewhat being like she holds a deep hidden sorrow with in her soul while spending time at her favorite booth at the tavern…
