Mundane items that cannot be made by oneself (whether by lack of resource or lack of skill), can usually be acquired at markets through the process of bartering. When purchasing rare or valuable goods, one must pay for said items with precious metals. Raw, or uncut metals, can be weighed and cut, but most vendors prefer coins (which can be easily counted, stored, or traded). There are four types of coins that are generally accepted world-wide: gold coins (gc), gold pennies (gp), silver coins (sc) and silver pennies (sp).


Rate of Exchange

1 gold coin = 20 silver coins

1 silver coin = 10 silver pennies



Armor

Padded Tunic

A quilted tunic that offers a little more protection than regular clothing. Can be worn under Chain Shirt, Haerlish Lamellar Cuirass, and other similar pieces found in the Core Rulebook.

Brigandine Jerkin

A lightweight jerkin of hardened leather with thin metal plates sewn inside. Comes with leather wrist guards.

Chain Shirt

A chain shirt consisting of small metal rings linked together in a pattern to form a mesh. Comes with a

light helm.

Haerish Lamellar Cuirass

A stout cuirass of waxed leather plates, sewn with leather cording and inlaid with typical Haerish designs. Can be worn over a Padded Tunic or Chain Shirt.

Fur Armor

A heavy raiment, coat, and shin guards made up of various animal pelts. It is said that the thick furs can turn a blow as well as chainmail, but offers little protection against piercing attacks.

A long coat of lightweight, steel plates that are sewn together.

Weapons

Longseax

A small, broad-bladed sword favored by warriors in a shield-wall where thrusting is more effective. Hilts vary from bone, leather and polished-wood.

Quadan Longsword

A long, thin sword slightly curved towards the tip.

A heavy broad-bladed sword with a deep curve towards the tip.

Quadan Recurve Bow

A lightweight bow made especially for use on horseback.
