"The Greater New England Freeholds" is a term used to collectively refer to the modern-day Boston and Cambridge freeholds. Each freehold acts entirely autonomously, with no official ties to the other, and operates through its own system of governance. The Boston freehold utilizes a traditional seasonal Court system, while the Cambridge freehold operates on a level approaching a true democracy.
