This game is accepting

Desiree Prescott, the famous Chelish Diva was wounded when an attempt was made on her life at a show here in town. A wrist fired crossbow bolt hit her during a rendition of her Aria "Armies of the Heart". Fortunately it buried itself in a medallion that she was wearing. The bolt's tip did breach her skin, though only slightly. The assailant was apprehended and killed by guards. Witnesses say that with his last breath he uttered that there were others to finish what he had started.

The attacker's name has yet to be released, but sources say that he was identified as a former member of Red Mantis Assassins. Though some think this to be just speculation.

A Healer in the audience stepped forward to mend her wound. Sources close to the Diva say that she will be taking extra precautions, but that she's determined to continue the historic tour that she is taking…
- Excerpt from the Westcrown Gazette published on the 13th day of Rova

Game Description: "Every story has to have a hero."
You are the very precautions that the diva was said to be taking. The Chelish songstress's agent, Wesley Newhouse has placed an ad in the Gazette and spread word around that he is looking for a group of able bodied individuals to accompany Desiree on her tour across the continent. Though he suspects there is some truth to what the would-be assassin said about there being others, he can't for the life of him figure out why anyone would want to kill Desiree as she's done nothing of note besides be a singer.

Except that she's notoriously rude, stuck up and obsessed with beauty and high society. Much of the time she's convinced that she's better than others and even though the attack might have humbled her some, how much money would you have to be paid to deal with a diva?

This game is something I've been kicking around since reading the Chelish Diva Archetype and I don't think I have ever seen a game formulated like this or with this kind of hook played on any site. There will be plenty of role play and travel, some combat and a lot of fun to be had.

Ideas for Characters "Do you need a hook to get you in the door?"
-The healer who helped at the show that night
-A sellsword just returned from Prison looking for work and a new life
-An investigator with a conspiracy theory about what happened
-An obsessed fan

Character creation guidelines "Listen close kid, because here's where it starts to get tricky."
-Level 3 to start
-2 traits (approval needed)
-25 point buy
-Classes from SRD only, no 3.5 or 3rd party
-No Monstrous Races
-Alignment isn't restricted, you could be evil seeing as how the country is, but we need this to not be the source of constant in-fighting.
-Full HP every level
-Firearms allowed, but only early firearms
-Starting gold is by level

Super long winded backgrounds really aren't a necessity, but we do need to know where you come from a bit about personality and a bit about what you look like. Each individual character will make their own thread in a section of the forum I am going to link to here.

Something a little different "Where do we go from here?"
We're going to do this a little different than normal. Instead of the usual you post characters and I decide, we're going to have a small try out. Depending on how many people we might have multiple days' worth (in role play). But the basic idea is that I will make a thread where you characters will come to meet the Diva and apply for the job, telling her about all of your exploits up until then. The meeting interactions will be in character and will post as a role playing sample.
