Entry 1: The Call of the Wild

Date: July 1st, 2024

Today marks the beginning of a new chapter in my life. The unexplored region west of Crimsonbloom Town beckons with the promise of discovery and adventure. My desire to explore this wild frontier and document every Pokémon that inhabits it is insatiable. I have spent countless hours preparing for this journey, and now, the day has finally come. I am eager to embark on this expedition, armed with my research tools, boundless curiosity, and a heart full of excitement.

Why do I feel such a strong pull towards this region? It started years ago when I first heard tales of strange and unique Pokémon sightings from wandering trainers. Stories of Pokémon with abilities unseen in other regions, of habitats untouched by modern development, and of an ecosystem that thrives in harmony and mystery. These tales sparked a flame within me, a burning need to uncover the truth and share it with the world.

Moreover, as a Pokémon researcher, I am driven by the desire to understand Pokémon in their natural habitats. This region, being so remote and untouched, offers a unique opportunity to observe Pokémon behaviors and interactions that have not been influenced by human presence. The potential for discovering new species, rare evolutionary forms, and unknown abilities is immense. I believe that studying this region will not only expand our understanding of Pokémon biology but also contribute to conservation efforts by highlighting the importance of preserving their natural habitats.

Additionally, I am motivated by a personal connection to this region. My grandfather, an explorer in his own right, once ventured into these lands and returned with fascinating stories and sketches. Unfortunately, his journey was cut short, and he never had the chance to fully explore the area. I feel a deep sense of duty to continue his work and honor his legacy by uncovering the secrets he was unable to reveal.

With these motivations in mind, I set forth with a sense of purpose and determination. The wilds west of Crimsonbloom Town hold countless mysteries, and I am ready to uncover them, one step at a time.

Entry 2: Arrival in Crimsonbloom Town

Date: July 7th, 2024

I have arrived in Crimsonbloom Town! The journey from Orre was long, but the sight of this quaint town nestled at the edge of the wilderness has invigorated my spirit. The townspeople have welcomed me warmly, curious about my research and the prospects it brings. I can see the majestic eucalyptus trees swaying gently in the breeze, their leaves whispering tales of the unknown.

Tomorrow, I will begin my exploration of the town and start laying the groundwork for my research. I'm eager to see the building in person that I purchased for use as my lab. A pity the lab equipment will not be arriving until tomorrow. I am so eager to get started! At least I have my notebook. Perhaps I will be able to learn from the locals in town and their experiences.

Entry 3: First Impressions

Date: July 10th, 2024

Crimsonbloom Town is a charming place, full of character and kind-hearted people. I have visited the local shops, each with its unique offerings. The Poké Mart is not exactly well-stocked with supplies, but considering that this is the frontier border I suppose its as good as can be expected. The fruit shop has an assortment of local berries and tasty treats for humans and pokemon alike, and the general store offers a few things that I was able to purchase for my first expedition. I have met several townspeople, including the knowledgeable Nurse Joy who works at the local hospital and the enthusiastic Lily Meadow that is running a Daycare and Adoption Agency for pokemon.

Tomorrow, I take my first step into the wilderness. The anticipation is almost unbearable. I have prepared thoroughly, but the unknown always carries an element of surprise. I am ready for whatever lies ahead. The sheer giddiness of anticipation has me feeling practically invincible.

Entry 4: A Setback and a New Plan

Date: July 15th, 2024

I am writing this entry from the town's hospital. My initial foray into the wilderness was met with unexpected challenges. An aggressive pack of wild Pokémon caught me off guard, resulting in a nasty injury. . While my academic achievements and research talents speak for themselves, there are apparently talents I do not possess that are required for field work. The nurse says I will make a full recovery, but it has become clear that I need help.

I have decided to hire explorers to venture into the wilderness for me. Their expertise and strength will allow us to cover more ground safely and efficiently. This setback is merely a reminder of the wild's untamed nature and the need for caution and collaboration. Hopefully I can find young trainers capable of pushing forward where I cannot.

Entry 5: Establishing the Base of Operations

Date: July 22nd, 2024

Despite my injury, progress continues. We have successfully set up several essential facilities in town. The Pokémon Center is fully operational, providing crucial medical care for both trainers and Pokémon, and Nurse Joy has agreed to operate the facility in addition to her work at the hospital. The research lab is equipped with the latest technology, ready to analyze our findings and foster new discoveries.

Today, I sent out advertisements for new trainers and explorers to join our cause. I have included that a starter pokemon and my newest pokedex will be given as advanced payment to whomever is selected to join me in my research. I will have to thank my collogue for providing me with the rare pokemon, which I am sure will help me secure capable applicants. Now, I wait for responses, hopeful that many will answer the call to adventure. Together, we will uncover the mysteries of this unexplored region and expand our knowledge of the Pokémon world.

I eagerly await the next steps in our journey. Each day brings us closer to understanding the wonders that lie beyond Crimsonbloom Town.

  1. What's new in this game
  2. Koichi felt the death like chill in the air. "Hmm feels more like a haunted mansion then a gym." He commented "I wonder if the leader a ghost type user. If so I could in for some difficulty." He hummed "well best go find out what I'm facing. Koichi descended the stairs until he came into the dimly lit room and saw the shadowy figure by an old but polished table. The shadowy figure appearing to be a butler of sorts but it wasn't human. Koichi studied the figure for a moment before the being greeted him. Koichi blinked "uh kind of, I heard rumors there's a gym here and if there a gym challenge available I'll be happy to take it but I'm also doing research for a Professor Redgum. He wanted me to look into places like this while exploring the wilderness beyond Crimsonbloom. He pulled out his pokedex "mind if I take some pictures?"
  3. The air inside was thick with the scent of dust and decay, and a faint, unnatural chill made the hair on Koichi's neck stand on end. If he descended down the stairs deeper, he would find himself in a dimly lit room. The flickering light from the cracked chandelier above revealed a shadowy figure floating near an old, polished table. If it was a pokemon, it was unlike any that Koichi had ever seen. It was dressed impeccably in a butler's uniform, complete with a bowtie and white shiny badge pinned on its chest. The ghostly Pokémon bowed slightly, its polite grin ever-present, as if welcoming the trainers into its domain. "Ah, welcome. It has been some time since we have had challengers visit. You are here for the trials, I presume?" the pokemon asked in perfectly understandable English. Welcome to the gym!
  4. Ken spots the lone fish and takes a moment to look around him. "Hmm...nobody else around, and no other wild Pokemon to threaten me and make noise...perfect." He pulls out his Pokedex to get some info on the fish. "Magikarp...hang on, why's this pic orange?" he looks between the Dex entry and the wild Magikarp, puzzled at the difference. "...Eh, prob'ly just the sunlight," he says with a shrug as he puts away his 'Dex and goes for his new fishing pole and lure, a smile spreading across his face. A couple of minutes later, and only a few poked fingers, Ken makes his way to the riverbank. He starts upriver from the Magikarp, casting gently into the water and letting the current guide the lure to it naturally. Dex XP logged. If I'm reading the rules for Lures and Bait right, then I'll get to make three DC15 checks to try and hook the Magikarp. I'll make them one at a time until I reach the DC. Whether I meet it or not, I'll find out with your next response. Edit: Welp, looks like none of them took.
  5. Let's go food diplomacy (the only diplomacy Joseph can use right now) XD
  6. Okay, uh... this wasn't the worst outcome, thought Joseph. He was not the target of water blasts or avalanches, accidental or otherwise. He clapped as the Manaphy begun its show yet again, even as his fearful Mudkip peeked between his legs. Still, they may not be aggressive or running away from him, but the situation could be improved. Could he do it? Could he be greedy? Right now, he could just snap shots of these two with his Pokedex and call it a day... but what cards could he play? He was but an amateur... Well, nothing for it, he thought. "Excuse me. That show must be the product of much effort. How about some snacks?" he said, as he procured his last Baby Food--- a muffin--- and a Mago berry that he had gotten a while ago, offering them to the pair of wild Pokemon. Summary According to my correspondence with the game master, Joseph's jacket does nullify the 4 Ice damage with its 5 DR. Baha does still take 2 damage after its resistance. 47/49. In an attempt to further improve disposition, offering Baby Food and Mago berry to the Manaphy and Vulpix, whoever wants which. Both are sweet.
  7. A blue surge of light occurs as Koichi in his Team Rocket Costume materializes on the Gourmand Gym's portal. Koichi blinked as he looked around. "Whoa, that was a trip, " he commented, "and it looks like it's sent me into some sort of building..." He pulled out his phone "So, this is Gourmand Gym, huh?" He noted the dust and decay. "It looks pretty dead to me, like no one has been here for years." He turned to the portal with the glowing runes. "Hmm... I think I better take a picture of this for the Professor maybe he can make heads or tails out of what's written here." Koichi snapped a photo with his phone.
  8. // Percy Larr // "Y-yeah, this isn't my normal outfit either, haha... " He feels a little silly for having to, but he digs up a photo he took with vespiquen and the hive and shows that to show his usual outfit. "A-and this is definitely not Sabrina's normal look!" He nods along with Sabrina showing her own selfie. He puts the pokedex away and pulls out Corduroy's pokeball, revealing the Mimikyu. Carefully holding the disguised pokemon in both hands to prevent any views beneath her disguise, he shows her to the professor. He'd bring Talos out too, but he hasn't really had the chance to interact with the statue pokemon himself yet and doesn't want showing them off to be their first meeting. "M-mimikyu's another one! This one's called Corduroy. Th-the pokedex talks them up a bit and kinda makes them sound dangerous, but they're not really more dangerous than any other pokemon! They just need to be treated with respect, l-like all the other pokemon are." He looks down at Corduroy and smiles. "I-I still get a little nervous with what the pokedex says, but I've only had good interactions so far with ghost pokemon! Sabrina's helped with that too, sh-she's really a good source of knowledge when it comes to this!" Wait, what was that bit about his life force? He glances at Litwick a little nervously. Current Team:
  9. With a deep breath, Koichi took a step forward and entered a whole new area! You are welcome to travel to D22.
  10. Right, yes, I definitely had that in mind. I also imagine that the theater has just... a version of all of their costumes perfectly fitted for Pikachu's
  11. Canonically, Pikachu's are known for their acting skills. I'm surprised it doesn't come up in the pokedex entries, what with all the costumes in games and the impersonation abilities in the anime.
  12. Koichi was snacking on candy as he entered the grassy field. He noticed the platform and walked to the edge of it, giving it a studying look. "Hmm... quite interesting," he muttered. He then pulled out his Pokedex and scrolled through the chat. "Now, what did that trainer say to do to be able to use this thing to get to that gym he found?" He scrolled through the chat and then came to the message with instructions, "right... stand on the portal and think Gourmand Gym." He hummed, "cool. let's give it a go." He walked onto the portal and took a deep breath and let it out to clear his mind and relax his body "Gourmand Gym." He both spoke and thought. Triggering the Ways portal to warp himself to the Gourmand Gym at D22. Not sure if you need to confirm it before I post there but I'll play it safe and say that you do
  13. One time I get to roll d12s and I don't roll above a 6... also Foster gets into character a lot
  14. Aife is not entirely sure why this place keeps catching her off guard like this. She'd been too caught up in the performance to remember that this was still a Gym Challenge and now she's stuck in a fight where there doesn't seem to be any real winning. Either she gets knocked out and loses, or tries to win and have to knock out Emily, which... is not happening. Deciding to stave off that particular branch of decision making for the moment, Aife focuses her attention on Hugs. Whipping her costume's tentacles in a somewhat rubbery sounding crack, she lets out her best monstrous villain laugh. "Foolish knights! In a chase for such a fickle thing as love, you've run right into my grasp! The throne will be mine!" As Aife monologues in the background, Foster keeps up her role, pointing her prop sword at Hugs, sparks dancing along the blade. "Pika pika pika chu ka~!" Ralse sings, proclaiming Maria to be just his, that he will slay the pretender to her hand, that only he is worthy, deserving of her. Ralse's tone grows more manic and obsessive as he sings, in a classic display of a villain breakdown, electricity surging more strongly across his blade as his madness grows, the song coming to a head as Ralse plunges his blade into Draco's belly, unleashing a bright white flash of lightning as it hits, mere moments before the fell monster Ultros bears down on the soldier, striking him repeatedly with monstrous tentacles. Mechanics
  15. Cadmus Stone | Perception 3d6 | AP: 5 | AbilitiesNaturewalk (Grassland) DR 3 (DR 5 vs Weather) | Carried Pokemon: Cadmus exhales - somewhat shakily - then says, "Yes, I'm okay. I...made contact with...an entity that is linked to this orb. It seemed to be sleeping, and didn't particularly want to wake up. It called itself 'Emergency' when I asked it is name. Then it went back to sleep." Lifting his hands from the Amber, he studied it some more, wishing there were a way to shrink it down. Putting it back in the rope travois he'd rigged for it, he tied it on and then took a look around the lab. "Hey, Professor Redgum, where's the stone box?" OOC Pokemon Team
  16. There are a lot fewer tentacles involved in that scene though.
  17. Def a win for Aife, yes, but a wild move to pull off narratively in the context of the play. Captured princess suddenly kisses monster trying to take over power. Though I did also technically say that none of what I said applied in a fight
  18. Aife could win by losing "you know what i told you about kissing attacks?" "yes" "....forget what i said"🥰
  19. So... I kinda messed with the stuff surrounding Aife's arrival but... did Emily ever actually get healed? Or is she still below half health? Though she should in theory still have the digestion buff from the muffin? I think she ate it, at least. Either way this might be a bit of a problem emotionally for Aife, if not necessarily mechanically. At least I can whale on the Arbok for the moment.
  20. "...Emergency..." The voice whispers faintly and then vanishes again, giving Cadmus the impression that it has gone back to sleep. Professor Redgum gives Cadmus a curious look. "Are you alright, Cadmus?"
  21. The two pokemon give a little start, surprised to see a human in the area. They both regard Joseph with curiosity for a moment. Then the blue one does a jump, continuing to show off. The Vulpix hips happily and continues to watch. Both pokemon have had their disposition improved from Fearful to Neutral. It is your turn.
  22. "The survivors from the west had come to attack," Diva narrates dramatically. "Amidst the chaos, Draco and Ralse both sang of their love for Maria. And Ultros, the monstrous chancellor, saw their chance to seize power once more. Would Draco be reunited with Maria at last, or would he be slain in front of her by Ralse's hands? Or would all of them fall, leaving Ultros to claim the prince's throne?" "Wait...are we battling now?" Emily gasps with sudden realization. "Its a gym battle, dearie. There has to be some competition to it! A 4 way battle to see who wins, and how the story ends." Emily looks over at Foster with a worried look, and then she looks at Aife. "Oh f-" Combat has begun! Emily has already taken her turn, since she has the highest speed. Hugs has the lowest, so Aife and Foster may act next. Remember that this is a dramatic opera battle, so while this works just like normal pokemon combat it also requires dramatic description. Also, you will get in trouble (attacked by Diva) if an attack damages the stage or theater itself. Also, each character will lose narratively if their character's narrative goal fails. Details are below: Maria loses if Draco is reduced to 0 health before Ultros is reduced to 0 health Draco loses if Maria is reduced to 0 health before Ralse is reduced to 0 health Ralse loses if Ultros is reduced to 0 health before Draco is reduced to 0 health Ultros loses if they ever attack the same person twice in a row before 2 other people are reduced to 0 health. Also, based on your acting performances, the following boosts are given at the start of the battle. Foster gets +2 CS to S ATK but drops down to +1 because Emily used Confide on her turn. Emily gets +2 CS to S ATK. Hugs gets +2 CS to ATK. Aife gets the Five Strike keyword added to her Struggle attacks while in combat.
  23. "But this is my costume" she think how to prove it to Yellowgum and get an idea, Sabrina take out her pokedex and scroll through it, after several seconds she turn the screen to Yellowgum "This is me" The pokedex show a picture, the selfie she has taken with Queen, in the picture Sabrina is crouching, to be at the same height of the gengar and she's wearing her normal dress. Hopefully Yellowgum will accept it, she stow away her pokedex and take two pokeballs. She summon Litwick and Phantump "She hasnt a name yet, names are important, we need to think about it, shes a Litwick" holding the candle pokemon in the palm of her hand "She does prefer Percy's lifeforce over mine, better taste, but a little nip once in a while is hardly noticeable, like donating blood, definitely not the monster portrayed by the pokedex" "While he is Stumped" raising the other hand "never made a sound, but communicate with hand gestures, he too is victim of the pokedex description" "Based on legends, legends! their name get tainted because a legend say they are the cause of lost children, legends likely made by the parents who lost them...." like with Cadmus, when Sabrina begin to talk about this topic, she sound like a pro-ghost activist, fighting her battle to clean their name. "I would like to submit them, that way ghosts will be represented"
  24. Cadmus Stone | Perception 3d6 | AP: 5 | AbilitiesNaturewalk (Grassland) DR 3 (DR 5 vs Weather) | Carried Pokemon: Cadmus freezes, staring at the orb. It was tiny, as though of something hardly awake. At first, he wasn't sure how to respond, but then he decided to take a cautious thought, "Hello, there. No, not now. Can you tell me your name? You can go back to sleep once you do." He breathlessly awaited a response, his focus entirely on the Amber. He wasn't intentionally ignoring Professor Redgum, but he didn't want to disrupt a tenuous connection. OOC Let me know if I should add Command, Focus, or something else. Pokemon Team
  25. Ken looks around as he walks along the water. There don't seem to be any random pokemon traveling here to drink, though he does spot a Magikarp swimming just under the surface of the clear water. You are welcome to scan Magikarp if you wish, but catching it requires a fishing check or some very creative thinking since it is under water at the moment.
