Detailed Description

Premise

I have had my eye on Castles and Crusades for quite a while. I have not seen too many Ads for any games, and I have the itch to play, so I decided to start up a game. This game is meant to be a learning opportunity for me, as well as the players. This does not mean that veteran players are not welcome, but if you are experienced with C&C, be aware I am new to the system, and mistakes might be made.

If you are new to gaming, or just new to C&C, here's a chance to try it out.

 

Expectations

I am not intending this to be a long campaign. All I have planned is a prologue, a short "dungeon" (3-5 rooms), and an epilogue. That's it. If everyone enjoys themselves, I am open to continuing on. But that is a bridge we will cross when we come to it.

  2. Still here. I'm OK with scouting the hideout if we want more information first.
  3. Still here. i feel like we’re indecisive, go to bandit hideout or take prisoners to-town-with. I vote the latter.
  4. are we getting our C&C on or what? Is everybody still here?
  5. "Aye?" Brindlehurst rumbled darkly. "And what, exactly, is wrong with the next town over?"
  6. Apologies. Also here - allergies have been stomping on me all week. But me dwarf is curious why this thief is saying the next town might be trouble.
  7. "Waitwaitwaitwait, maybe not everythin's on the up-and-up in town, if you know what I mean," Jimmy agrees with Modred.
  8. " Whatever we decide to do we need to do it quickly, otherwise the bandits may regroup and return." the pale magic user moves to the side of the road and leans against a tree. " I still think it is a good idea to go to the bandit's hideout and scout it first." Modred next addressed the bandit who spoke up and said going to the town was a death sentence for them. "Please explain to us why you think you will be put to death if we take you to the village."

KIRRZHUKKI OF THE REDSLOPES AC 13 Hit Points 14/14 Conditions NONE The half-orc cannot help but scoff at the notion of these poor souls’ having been forced, with no possible recourse, into a life of preying on hapless travellers. “Oh, is terrible fate. The having not a choice in the world but this. Are you seeing here?” she asks and points to a perfectly pristine spot on her moulded-leather chestplate. “Is the bleeding of my heart that it does for you.” She nods at Pandren's suggestion. “Maybe is best, the taking these two to the town, if we are letting them be alive.”
  10. You men might’ve thought about all that, Pam replies to the bandits. Before you attacked on intent of killing us. Friends, on second thought…I suggest we take these men on to town-with. We can present ourselves to the town council, and perhaps secure good favor when we tell them we can return to the bandit hideout. The town council might even give us resources and some kind of advance to help protect the realm!
  11. AC 13 Hit Points 11/11 Conditions NONE "I agree to scout the caves, though if the others made it back, it might be a good idea to secure the bandits' surrender rather than dispatch them all. Surely they recognize our superior strength after this rout. We dispatched them before they could even try to land one attack." Dobromir finishes and looks around the group for acquiescence or another proposal.
  12. "Oh? Pray tell. What drove you to banditry? And what can you tell us of Stahnvald?" Talia had been listening to the discussion, trying to weigh their options. However, she wasn't too keen on the bandits trying to blame the cause of their actions elsewhere. To her, banditry is always a choice, and the men could probably have found some other way to survive in this harsh environment. "As for this cave," she continues. "I fear we can be overwhelmed on numbers alone. There were definitely no warriors that were fought this day, but a cornered rat can still be vicious all the same."
  13. Sorry for the delay. I think I caught a bit of something the other day and been feeling very puny.
  14. With the mention of Stahnvald, the man who has stayed on the ground, as well as quiet, speaks up. "Take us to Stahnvald, and we be dead." The man gets up more quickly than the other did, but not so hastily as to be perceived as an attack. "And not by being bandits. Brother and I were driven to this!" The first man nods his head emphatically, eyes showing fear. Seeing the two standing next to each other, you can see some resemblances. They both have dark hair and pale green eyes, as well as sharing their nose and a chin cleft. The second man looks to be older, while the younger is taller and leaner.

  16. Sorry for the delay. Between prepping the house for inspection, helping the GF with a medical procedure, and with a TS/Hurricane bearing down, I had a lot on my plate. Will post tonight
  17. Brindlehurst rubbed at his chin and nodded. "Aye. If there's as much trouble as this fella says there is, might not be wise to face it without a bit of extra preparation. And we'll want to be takin' these prisoners to the next town for processing, anyways. Thor may battle to free slaves and beat down the Frost Giants and trolls of the world...but even Thor hisself has to bend the knee to Odin's wisdom every now and then."
  18. "Taking on a cave of bandits wasn't the first thing at the top of my list, and I kind of have a guy I was going to meet in the city, and..." Jimmy trails off. "...but we could scout it out or somethin', maybe let the city militia know where they're holed up. It's an option, is all I'm saying."

  20. AC 13 Hit Points 14/14 Conditions NONE Having dealt with bandits before on a number of occasions she is, at best, indifferent to the survivors' fate. Her tribe would have left wretches like them in no condition to engage in any more mischief – or in anything else, for that matter – but Cobbs supposes that civilised folk are all about giving wrongdoers second chances. Well, let them do that. As long as they don't come griping to her when having done so comes back around to bite them in the arse. “I am not the one for to infiltrate,” she notes, sitting on a tree stump nearby and cleaning her sword. “For to do sneaking things. At the most I can help making ambush. But a cave, is hard to ambush.” She sniffs, bares her teeth for a moment. “Still. Is good use of our time, slashing some number of bandits.”
  21. Our bardic fellow taps lithe fingers gently against the side of his panpipes. If we can infiltrate the hideout, eliminate a few bandits, and arrive in Stahnvald with proof we’ve staved off a threat…that might glean favor with the town, wouldn’t it? It might be nice, maybe, if we can make a good name for ourselves.
