Overview
- What's new in this game
-
Are you wearing the mithril chain shirt?
-
((Yes and yes. That's still going to hit.)) "Let's hope you're not a dog person," Irlana said as she swung at the nearest enemy. ((Not including weapon enhancement bonus because I don't know it. Add it to the rolls. AoO attack AoO damage Standard: Attack the same one that provoked. Attack damage Move: Tumble away towards a tree so I can't get flanked. Acro))
-
Did you put the ring on?
-
The closest throws a spear at you. The other two Double move into flanking positions. The third isn't careful in his movement and provokes an attack of opportunity. (I'm assuming you are the type to walk around with a weapon drawn at the fist sign of enemies...)Spear throw Critdam
-
"Dragon droppings," Irlana muttered. (( Init These dice...))
-
Trying to keep the bushes between them and you, you work around them. However, as you get north of them, one sniff the air and then looks right at you. He growls a waring to his friends. They are 35, 40, and 45 ft from you to the south. Roll initiative. You don't know what these dog guys are called. They are stooped in posture, but medium sized. Initiative A Initiative B Initiative AC
-
Irlana kept to the bushes. Bardic knowledge Stealth Whatever
-
Moving one screen north, there is another berry orchard, this one with 3 small, bipedal, dog like creatures carrying spears. The closest is 30 ft from you. Spot spot Spot Spot Roll a d12 along with whatever you want to do.
-
((North, towards the lake. Stealth
-
None them seem to notice you. They don't leave. They just wonder around, seeming to be eating things in the grass and munching on some of the grass. Make another stealth vs the spot checks rolled above to see if you can get past them. Which direction do you want to go?
-
Spot spot spot You seem to recall these things being called 'octo...somethings'. They are about halfling sized.
-
Irlana quickly ducked into the nearest bush to wait for the creature to pass. While she waited, she wracked her brains for any kind of recognition. ((Going to try sneaking through. Use Lullaby if any start getting too close. Bardic Knowledge Stealth))
-
The ax is magical, but you have no idea how. The rock has a weird aura, but isn't magic per se. You follow the road east. You soon come what seems to be an orchard of berry bushes. There are 5 strange red creatures crawling around them. The closest is 30 ft from you. Each bush is 5 ft around...how convenient.
-
((Yes.)) "Thanks again," Irlana said as she packed up. Then she stepped out and collected the axe she'd discarded last night, but before putting it away, she cast Detect Magic on it. Then she fished out the strange metallic rock and gave it the same treatment. Then she headed east, looking for the bushes the wisewoman had talked about. Spellcraft Axe Spellcraft Rock

I think the Vaccine came out in '91 and went into wide use shortly thereafter. I had it in the early '80s. Now, most of the kids are vaccinated, so if they get it at all it is more like a dozen pimples and a cold, as opposed to 2 weeks of pock-marked misery. I got shingles the second year of covid. I locked myself in a hotel room for 2 weeks to avoid becoming patient 0 for a chicken pox outbreak during covid. I had relatives in the States acting like it was a conspiracy, but Jakarta ran out of cemetery space, hospital beds, and oxygen at different times, all my neighbors lost older people, my son lost a classmate (the sickly kid, but still), and most of the older generation of doctors died, primarily of exhaustion.
-
(Contents as described above.) The sac is big enough to put the ax in. Are you taking the offered book?
-
"Alright already!" Ilrana said, taking the pack just get the old man out of his loop. Then she checked the basket and the sack's contents.
-
"The rock was in the backpack. Sometimes heroes or tourists leave things behind and never come back. Maybe you should ask a dwarf? Those are Rupees. Some times they are used as local currency. I've got no idea what the exchange rate is now." "It's dangerous to go alone! Take this."
-
"Thanks," said Irlana with a defeated sigh as she checked the pack. "What's this?" she asked, when she got to the scorched rock. "Or these crystals?"
-
No, that was the generation after mine. Been there, got the... well, not scars, but memories to prove it.
-
"People who study those ruins for too long tend to go insane or missing. I need to take care of Mr. Wiseman, so you can take these with you." she says pointedly not looking at your notes. "Maybe the Oracle at The Shrine of the Oracle (copyright 2005) will be interested." "Oh! It's dangerous to go alone! Take this." It looks like a bright, shiny day outside.
-
Great...my class has chicken pox cases. You might be in that generation after mine that could be vaccinated and got to skip it.
-
"No paper?" Ilrana exclaimed. "Before I left the clearing, I took these sketches of the runes on the obelisks. I figured they were important, but all I had was some ash. I wanted to make some better copies!" she said, laying her work out on the table.
-
Yeah, I was thinking the pokemon was a *bit* wonky.
-
(Same idea, but quasi medieval. Kyoto was the capital before Tokyo. ) "Sorry dear, I ran out of paper a year or two ago. Had to pause my journaling." "Melford is 3 days east along the road. From there you might find a caravan." "The boomerang is one screen east, then about 5 north. You'll see a lake with a bridge to an island."
