No love for Run DMC? You be Illin

Ok guess this isn't a classic rap/hip-hop crowd.... how about:

Showed your photograph to some old gray-bearded men
Sitting on a bench outside a general store
They said, "Yes, she's been here"
But their memory wasn't clear
Was it yesterday?
No, wait, the day before

Finally got a ride with a preacher man who asked
"Where you bound on such a cold dark afternoon?"
As we drove on through the rain, as he listened, I explained
And he left me with a prayer that I'd find you

Written by Eddie Rabbit? I try very very hard not to remember as much country as I can avoid... or something. - Doesn't ring a bell. Must have been inbetween my country phase in the '80s and taking a job where my coworkers play country all day long....

Hey! Eddie Rabbit had some pop crossover appeal. "Driving My Life Away" hit 5 on Billboard pop. He also wrote and performed with Juice Newton and Crystal Gale. He also wrote "Every Which Way but Loose." Like Dolly Parton, he wrote songs other people performed. And he covered Bob Dylan and Donavon.

I will admit I had to look up Eddie's career notes because I mostly know him for "Driving My Life Away"; which resonated with my life when it came out.

I looked the song up, which I admitted earlier. It was less of a "Surprise" than it was "Well, of course. That makes sense." for me. The performer is known for Rock, Rockabilly and Gospel. From a time when you did not have to target a niche audience.

Kentucky Rain, written by Eddie Rabbit. Performed by Elvis.

I looked it up but after six days it's up for grabs.

Well I've opened up my veins too many times
And the poison's in my heart and in my mind
Poison's in my bloodstream
Poison's in my pride
I'm after rebellion
I'll settle for lies

Is it any wonder that my mind's on fire
Imprisoned by the thoughts of what to do
Is it any wonder that my joke's an iron
And the joke's on you

Experiments that failed too many times
Transformations that were too hard to find
Poison's in my bloodstream
Poison's in my pride
I'm after rebellion
I'll settle for lies

Yes I know the secrets of the iron and mind
They're trinity acts, a mineral fire
Yes I know the secrets of the circuitry mind
It's a REDACTED wonder REDACTED

It's from Blue Oyster Cult, but the name of the song escapes me.

Nor is it Burning for You

Flaming Telepaths.

I guess I should have gone with Harvester of Eyes

Instead, sticking with Halloween Theme, but different artist.

Coming this Christmas to a theater near you
The most horrifying film to hit the screen
There's a homicidal maniac who finds a cub scout troop
And he hacks up two or three in every scene

Please don't reveal the secret ending to your friends
Don't spoil the big surprise
You won't believe your eyes when you see

REDACTED to REDACTED

REDACTED to REDACTED

REDACTED to REDACTED

In Three Deee!!!!!
