Placing her face between the bars she ran her tongue over her teeth, pupils still glowing red. "Now Raky hun, if you could open these doors, maybe we can look to finding what was taken from us, and if we're lucky we'll find somethin' enough to cover our troubles." I'm not sure whether it talks or not, but if we get my amulet back I might be able to probe whatever mind it has.... "CT, I never thought I'd see visible stink lines around a person, but live and learn." Her laugh died down as she approached their warden and pulled off his hood. She needed to see if he was in fact a living person, however misshapen, or if he was just an amalgamation of parts and magic, be that golem or undead. Not that she was an expert in any of these things, magic or mysticism, but she knew how a body worked so figured she could work somethings out. If nothing else, she could follow her nose. "I'm not sure either Laz, but no harm in checking. Though if any of you are in the know about these sorts of things, I'm all ears." Yanking back its head covering, she checked it for a pulse and finding a fresh wound dipped her two fingers inside. Rooting around a big she pulled them out and took first a sniff, then a lick to see if she could suss out anything peculiar. Cthulioh Posted September 17 Author Clone Share Posted September 17 The main thing that your examinations reveal is that this creature is...odd. It has a natural body temperature, and seems to run quite hot in comparison to most humanoids. You can feel a pulse through your fingers - multiple pulses, in fact, and hot, fresh blood wells from the wound you inspect. You're not quite sure how exactly this thing is alive, though, given that it seems to be stitched together from the parts of multiple cadavers. The right arm, the one holding the cleaver, is massive and ogreish in form, but the left is comparatively withered, drawn up tight against its chest in unconsciousness. It draws in rasping, wet breaths, the barrel chest rising and falling in slumber, each inhalation straining the raw edges of its many stitch-seams. As for what it is carrying, aside from the massive blade that may be beyond you to lift and the ring of keys, this creature does not seem to have any other possessions. "Ew." A crimson spike manifests in her hand and she drives it into the stitched man's head. "You're right Laz, not to my taste at all. We have keys and we have a cleaver, not sure if you can swing this think Drix, but it's better than nothing." She sat on the hulking corpse, waiting for the others to be freed and ready, and leaned over to give the hodgepodge of a drake a morsel of warden meat and ruffle around his mane. "Who's a good Hodgy Podgy, you are! Yes you are..." Satisfied, he snaps his fingers, signaling to his "drake" to stop chewing on the unconscious, twitching mass of flesh. With a sharp glance around, he tunes into his surroundings, all senses heightened to catch any sign of movement or danger. Crouching beside Mr. Cuddles, Drixar grabs the oversized butcher’s cleaver and tests its weight a few times, giving it couple swings ''Not ideal, even very clumsy. No surprise that he couldn't hit my scaly mug with it... but it is still better than scratching with my fingernails, I guess...'', he muses. Letting the crude weapon rest against the wall for a moment, he crosses his arms thoughtfully before turning toward the others. "So... what's next, oh fearless leaders?" "Alright," he mutters, his tone firm. "Let's move. I'll stay in the middle with Razyt. Bett, you're up front—keep those sharp eyes open for any nasty surprises, traps, or whatever other stupid way we could die. Carrot and Laz, you close the line." He casts a quick glance at the two others, his eyes narrowing slightly in contemplation. He’s not sure what to make of them yet. Both had shown an aptitude for magic, something that, while not completely detested, still carried a certain wariness in his mind. Back in his homeland, the ones who joined the Castinellan and adopted their rigid ways were the zealots, fearful of any power beyond steel and muscle. Drixar wasn’t like them, but even so... magic is something he is even remotely understanding except the Druidic kind. With that thought lingering, he falls into place, ready for whatever comes next. A relatively passive drill sergent, but firm none the less. She scooted quickly up beside the shadow hugging redhead, who seemed to be moving near magically from concealment to concealment, either that or he was executing his movements with absolute perfection. ~Pst...~ She said, but not outloud, instead she spoke directly to his mind. Telepathically linking both to Rakesh and Drixar, she maintained a connection without them having to make any undue noise. As quiet as she was, which really, she wasn't, she basically was also walking straight down the middle of the hall. You and the creature don't need to speak a common language to understand each other. The first time you use this power after each long rest, you don't expend the Psionic Energy die. Progress down the corridor, however, even that scant illumination vanishes, leaving you wrapped in a choking shroud of humid darkness. It is a shroud, however, in which you are assailed by nothing, and many of you possess vision well accustomed to darkness which saves you from stumbling over the uneven flooring. Presuming that you've found yourself in some sort of prison, the room you discover at the corridor's end might have once been a guard's post or warden's office. Now, it's a dank and filthy den, likely belonging to the beast laying dead in the cell block behind you. A nest of rags, soaked with bodily fluids and unnameable viscera, lays slumped against one corner of the room. The floor is scattered with gnawed, raw bones, and inside what might have once been a supply cupboard is a crude and vaguely humanoid effigy built from those same meal scraps. A heavy desk, the only surviving original furniture that you can see, is hauled up against the only doorway out, drag marks in the muck clearly showing how your hulking warden used it as a barricade.
