Sounds good, next scene in town, there's a few possible hooks

- just carouse in the tavern

- work out if to give supplies, if any, to the garrison/town

- investigate the situation with the town and the bandits and figure out what to tell your superiors about the situation

- improve the situation of the garrison by helping with fortifications or medical attention

- check on the returning patrol and the prisoner

It's alright, part of the benefits of having a large party is being able to account for varying posting rates. Splitting up in town also tends to work well I think to let everyone do something.

Mendraz gets all the info there is to get between the roll and the much appreciated medical aid, I might try to write up a touch more in a bit.

40 minutes ago, Tecumseh said:

"Here, where's that piece of paper with our commission on it? Maybe we can waive it around at headquarters to get some face-to-face time with the prisoner."

Hahaha, woops! I guess she should have been the de facto leader! It's too bad the prisoner isn't in the same building as the man who has it...

I don't really have any questions beyond basic things they'd probably ask any prisoner anyway... I really am not great at information-fishing.

  • Maybe start with something personal like where they grew up...
  • What's the prisoner's position? (Are they high enough on the food chain that they'd know anything?)
  • What's their objective here? / What were they promised?
  • How are they organized? / Who gave them orders?

a few options

- more questions for prisoner. discuss what to do with the prisoner with the garrison

- go raid the bandit camp. this is a significant detour but it could get you prestige with the army and information

- head up the river

- something else in town

they'd pretty much have to wait for you since by now they'd be fairly scared of rebels and the like from what they hear in town and the burnt out ship.

but they won't be happy about it. they'd take convincing not to be overly upset.

from a strictly meta perspective, i'd rather be a bit generous in letting the party wander around in terms of the guard contract than be super rigid about holding you to a hard timetable.

Fair enough. I feel Cedric as a character would actively try to steer the group to clearing the bandit camp but would follow the group if outvoted.

Lord Xylanthir as a character does not think it's a good idea to go to the bandit camp. I as a player think it would be fun, a great fit for our capabilities, and good practice for our actual goal of eliminating the Archaeologist.

So, in-character the vote is 1 for and 1 against, with both votes flexible from an out-of-character perspective... I think we need more votes.

Alma's thinking follows Xylanthir's line of reasoning.

My OOC thinking mirrors Xiadais. It would be interesting to investigate this strange coinage, but it's uncertain whether it would be a productive lead.
