Turn 10

Years 118-120

Welcome to turn 10! The turn ends September 12 at 9pm EST. War deadline is the preceding Thursday and please roll your actions on the preceding Friday.

Growth

The League of the Hundred Pearls declares diplomatic unity, forming The Grand Republic! LHP may take a 6th action each turn and have vassals!

The Court of Eyes establishes a diplomatic claim to Region 28!

The Veyhr Confederacy finishes pressing a claim to Region 4! They gain control of the region and 1 unit.

The Commonwealth of Uhrasa finishes pressing a claim to Region 44! They gain control of the region and 1 unit.

onfederacy establisThe Veyhr Ches a marriage claim to Vykronan Crescent (R5)!

The Holy Kingdom of Raesija successfully presses claim to region 67! If they press it again on turn 10, they will control the region and gain 1 unit!

The Kalipsa Kaliphate successfully presses a claim to region 3! If they press it again in turn 10 they will control the region and gain one unit!

Military

North Baria raises a fortress in the Scraps (R10)! Informally called Freedom’s Bastion for the unrelenting commitment to freeing slaves, it will be referred to as such on the tables until Baria gives it an official name!

The Purulosii Archonate constructs a fortress in Region 37! “The Crabshell.”

The Veyhr Confederacy creates a Military Specialization they name Kei'Vogahri (Defiant War)! Effect: 2d12 when defending Confederacy land!

Across Emjata, armies are raised:

COE raises 1 unit!

ASA raises 3 units!

CRN raises 1 unit!

KKH raises 2 units!

DMW raises 1 unit!

The Kingdom of Velka recruits a general: Boyar Artem Zinon (M10)!

The Loot Gremlin Horde recruits a general: Skeem the Schemer (M8)!

BAR attacks region 13 with 2 units led by Saul Bransown, marching through region 12!
Saul Bransown had written ahead to negotiate passage for the Barian army through their northeastern neighbors’ lands to attack the Carnelian Republic, but he certainly wasn’t waiting around for an answer. When Saul, by this point an exceptionally experienced commander, arrived in the region to find that the locals had not wished to cast aside their sovereignty, he directed his hobgoblins to solidly thrash the local forces, leaving an apologetic note on his way east.

BAR wins, overwhelming region 12! BAR controls region 13! Region 12 loses a unit!

BAR attacks region 14(Carnelian Coast) with 3 units and an unnamed commander. CRN defends with 6 units led by Hanno Barca
By the time that the Barian fleet arrived in the Carnelian coast, they found that the Carnelians were ready, attempting to engage the Barians at sea with a much larger and more experienced fleet of their own. Knowing that fighting the republic at sea was likely a lost cause, the Barian commander ordered a rapid landing, but found that parties of marines had already fortified the shore. After a tense battle in which the Barian forces failed to secure the beachhead, the remainder of the attacking fleet turned around and fled before they could be engaged by Cleon’s ships.
CRN wins! CRN loses 1 unit! BAR loses 2 units!

UHR invades region 33! It is unopposed!

Setting aside her pride and begrudgingly leading a land campaign, Aveline Ironwave is relieved to find that in the wake of the Hegemony’s collapse their westerly province was left undefended.
UHR wins! UHR controls region 33!

LHP, UHR, and RAE attack region 49 with 7 units under the leadership of the Crab! ASA attacks region 48 with 2 units led by Sath’Taun! They clash at sea!
In a battle that will be written about by practitioners of Jalyeong-bo for generations, Sath’Taun once again proves the might of the spirits. Although the Crab’s navigators were well trained, the winds and waves blew most of the rest of the league’s fleet off course, causing them to miss the fight entirely. When the Uhrasans and Raesijians met the spirit-guided pirates, they too found the spirits to be more than a match. The Raesijian fleet found themselves caught in a mire of waterspouts and whirlpools and though the Uhrasan stormseers were able to exert a modicum of control as they rammed pirate vessels, their sacrifice lamps were burning out within seconds of being lit. The decisive moment in the battle came when Sath-taun itself boarded the Crab’s vessel, setting it alight and killing everyone on board. After the naval battle, the damage to both fleets was extensive enough that neither had the strength to push on to its eventual goal.
The sides tie! ASA loses 1 unit! LHP loses 1 unit! UHR loses 2 units! RAE loses 1 unit! The Crab is dead!

DMR invades R54 with 3 units led by an unnamed commander. KUR defends with 1 unit led by a mil 5 commander.
Assaulted on all sides by foes, it is in Ascalante that the Holy Kingdom’s defenses are found wanting. To the surprise of no one, it is the thunderers of Raam that are the weak link: athough in an early engagement Raam’s chariots were able to put a dent in the satrapy’s numbers, the Satrapy’s commander subsequently kept their forces too tight for chariots to penetrate, forcing the dwarves to retreat, again, and again, until they were all the way back in Khur.
DMR wins! DMR controls R54! DMR loses 1 unit!

GDV invades region 55 (Khur) with 1 unit led by Princess Elisaveta. KUR defends with 2 units led by Priest-King Khyrus-Kha.
When the Velkan and Khursani armies met at the gates of Khur-Alak, it was clear that neither would give quarter. The battle was as brief as it was deadly: after Princess Elisaveta ordered her wolf-riders to charge the middle of Khur’s two formations, it is said that the hammers of Kalid didn’t stop swinging until shortly after they met the Urak firstborn on the other side.
KUR wins, overwhelming GDV! GDV loses 1 unit! Princess Elisaveta escapes with her life!

DMR invades region 58 (Erenfell) with 1 unit and an unnamed commander. KUR defends with 1 unit led by Khurnath of Kalid
After securing the surrounding countryside, the small satrapy army in Erenfell laid siege to the Talon of the Gods for three months of grueling… waiting. While Khurnath and his cooks dined well inside the fortress on their ample stores, the satrapy’s forces were less fortunate: it had been a good locust season, and the surrounding villages were barely able to supply them with any grain. Defying the ordinary logic of siege, it seemed that the defenders might outlast the army on the outside. Not content to return home in disgrace, the satrapy’s commander prepared to assault the walls. Just as their siege ladders connected and the weary and gaunt satrapy men climbed the walls of bone, the gates of the fortress opened and half of the Daughters of Rakarth marched out led by Kurnath of Kalid, looking as fresh as blood on the altar and beating a steady rhythm on their shields. The warrior-cooks on the ground chased the satrapy’s soldiers up their own ladders, trapping them in the worst of possible positions between Khur’s forces on the walls and on the ground. Though a few stragglers with the foresight to make the leap of faith from the ladders made it back to Satrapy lands, they returned ragged and beaten, with hollow stomachs and hollower eyes.
KUR wins, overwhelming DMR! DMR loses 1 unit! The unnamed commander is killed!

GDV invades region 64 with 3 units and 2 LHP units led by Matvei Ralian. COE invades region 64 with 9 units let by Atan-Maht, Pain’s Witness!
The full might of the Court of Eyes is brought to bear on Raesija (the region, not the holy kingdom). Tens of thousands are dispatched, and at their head is Atan-Maht. What they anticipated as an easy conquest however in the wake of Khur’s devastation turns out to be a much harder fought battle. As thralls swarm the city in droves, each wave is pushed back by the stalwart defense of Velka’s well trained warriors. Any gaps they cannot hold against such numbers are reinforced by soldiers of the League of the Hundred Pearls! Though outnumbered, the defenders simply will not allow the invading hordes one inch of ground inside the holy city. After such intense losses, the call is made to withdraw, and Atan-Maht leaves Raesija in the hands of the Dejanists.
GDV wins! Region 64 belongs to GDV! GDV loses 2 units! LHP loses 1 unit! COE loses 5 units!

LHP invades region 66! They are unopposed!
The League of the Hundred Pearls’ Peregrinata legion marches into the remaining lands of Empress Aemiliana, finding them undefended.
LHP wins! LHP controls region 66.

Trade

The Veyhr Confederacy upgrades the resource quantity in region 6, gaining a second TP of Papyrus! They gain ownership of the new TP, and the Victila Trading Company becomes famed in the region for increasing business! In emulation of their neighbour, they additionally gain a minority of Pa’fron.

The Carnelian Republic creates a new technology: Slave Economy!
Effect: Generates an additional treasure each turn.

Required: 2+ Slave TPs.

COE buys out The Misty Woods (R22) TP2!

THX buys out R28 TP3!

UHR buys out R57 TP2!

BAR buys out Avakonia (R51) TP2!
Holding to their principles and freeing as many slaves as possible sometimes comes with unconventional methods. Contrary to their expectation, the Secessionists actually support North Baria’s fair purchase of their enslaved citizens and seem not to have any complaints when they are immediately freed upon arrival in the Scraps. In fact, their scheming noble class encourages them to return for further business.

GDV raids R102 TP1!

Venturing very far to the north, Velkan wolf riders manage to terrorize the people of the northern steppe into handing over a cut of the silver plates from their ancient pyramid.

LGH raids Drakkis (R1) TP2!

ASA raids R21 TP1!

KKH raids R37 TP1!

LGH raids Eleuthera (R60) TP2!

KUR sacks R35 TP1! KUR gains 1 treasure!

KUR sacks R36 TP1! KUR gains 1 treasure!

Faith

AVA converts Nezra (R25) to the Cult of the Starlight Saviour! Nezra gains a minority of Cult of the Starlight Saviour. Paroxysm becomes a Majority.
AVA converts Khur (R55) to the Cult of the Starlight Saviour! Khur gains a minority of Cult of the Starlight Saviour. Old Gods becomes a Majority.

AVA converts Seht (R26) to the Cult of the Starlight Saviour! Seht gains a minority of Cult of the Starlight Saviour! Paroxysm becomes a Majority.

AVA converts the Carnelian Coast (R14) to the Cult of the Starlight Saviour! The Carnelian Coast gains a minority of the Cult of the Starlight Saviour.

With dwarf troubles and the new cult of the Starlight savior moving into the region, the time has come for Paroxyst dryads to become more serious about unity in the face of the new threats.

Region 22’s plurality of Paroxysm is increased to a Majority!

The Carnelian "Republic" wages war on its former religions!
CRN purges the minority of Perijanism in the Carnelian Coast (R14)!

CRN purges the minority of Jalyeong-Bo in the Carnelian Coast (R14)!

DMW declares the Size 20 Bonus for Paroxysm: 2d8 to Resist Raids.

The Isle of Veyhr creates a faith technology - Lati'i'Vahrani (Traditional Medicine)!

Effect: Reduces Battle Losses by 1 if 2 or more Battles Losses occur.

Slot: Drugs, Medicine, and Blessings

Required Resource: Exotic Produce

With illness taking hold of Kiama, she seeks the knowledge of the eldest of the So'Lahi'i and the Zu'Eyth. While they are unable to cure her, Safiri convinces her mother to order a number of scribes to start documenting the traditional medicines and healing rituals of the Dinma'ari. While they may be unable to heal Kiama, their knowledge will help the Confederacy greatly

Thixinixithinitraxes finds a holy artifact, The Diadem of Thixinixithinitraxes! Effect: +1 to Buyout once/round.

Terror

The helm of Dejan, a priceless relic of the conqueror, is melted down in Khur to spite those who would still cling to his legacy. The helm of Dejan is Destroyed!

An ill omen visits the royal compound in Velka: holy locusts. Though the guards shoot them out of the sky, they find the huge insects were carrying a message, written in Khursani script by their tiny human-like hands.
“Fyodor Velira is cordially invited to the temple in the west. Please help us. Safety is guaranteed”

A similar entourage visits Khur-Alak, where they receive a much warmer welcome, bearing a similar request for Priest-King Khyrus-Kha.

Rumors reach both courts that the lands to the west of Khur have been dominated by the holy locusts, displacing the native population to the south. So far no more detailed scouting reports have returned due to the dangers of being eaten within the region’s borders.

Region 83 is added to the map. It has 12 units of Holy Locusts, which are currently immune to size losses, as well as inflicting an extra size loss roll on any enemies they fight. The Holy Locusts will be hosting a diplomatic event there during round 10. Nations wishing to attend must spend a diplomacy action, declare their entourage and make a TN18 military or intrigue roll to survive traversing the region, losing every member of their entourage on a failure. GDV and KUR pass this check automatically if they bring Fyodor and Khyrus-Kha, respectively. If someone successfully attends the event or conquers the region, the region’s other properties will be revealed in the next round opener.

Other:

Dwarven refugees are shuffled around, moving from the League of the Hundred pearls to Thrixu and from the commonwealth of Uhrasa to North Baria. They’re getting grumpy about being told to move on though…
BAR and THX face the same choice: move the dwarves to a country within 6 regions with a diplomacy or military action or make a rolled diplomacy action to settle them. If they choose to settle them, they will gain 1 unit of dwarves (TN 12) or 2 units of dwarves (TN 16), and likely incur negative events.

In the misty wood, Queen Rhodia orders her dryads to try to kill the dwarves… and finds the refugees sturdier than predicted. In one of the first attacks, the dryads inadvertently stumble upon a group of refugees including Mulik Stanik, the cousin of the dwarves’ fallen king. When the treefolk bungled their ambush, Stanik rallied the dwarves to defend themselves, becoming a hero to his fellow refugees. As more of the dryads’ treachery comes to light, more dwarves flock to the banner of Stanik, who some believe to be the prophesied starlight savior to deliver them from . The dwarves currently have many fortified camps on the southern border of the misty wood, and may try to take the whole thing, though they are not past reasoning with.
A dwarven army with 3 units, led by Starlight Savior Mulik Stanik (mil 6) will attack region 22 with a foothold bonus this turn, unless they are made a generous offer to leave. If they successfully take the region, the consequences could be dire for the Dryad dynasty. Additionally, as word of the Dryads’ attempted atrocity spreads, few are willing to deal with them. DMW has a -2 penalty to all diplomacy rolls until the end of turn 12.

While the integration of the dwarven refugees into the Purulosii Archonate’s military goes well, their new neighbors are not so happy to be sharing their land with new immigrants. The issue is particularly severe in the northernmost reaches of the Archonate, where dwarven settlers have been clashing with the local inhabitants in increasingly violent skirmishes.
The Purulosii Archonate gains 2 units! Region 35’s minority of Dawi is increased to a plurality! If PUR does not take a fluffed action to abate the tensions in region 35, they may worsen. They may only do so once the region has an approved write up.

Thixinix is building a huge library!
The Purulosii Archonate finishes their great project: “The Great Reconstruction”.

Kingdom of Velka

Ruled by King Tikhon, King of the Twin Velkas, Warden of the Great Forest, Protector of the People from the Darkness, Keeper of the Great Oath, Acting Commander of Dejan's Forces in Emjata, Guardian of the Dejanist Faith

News and rumors

-With great but austere fanfare, King Tikhon has officially assumed his full powers as King of Velka. The Velkans desperately pray that the Blood of the Savior can continue to lead them wisely and well.

-A month of mourning is ordered by the King for Empress Aemiliana along with a state funeral carried out by the priests of her religion. The streets of Velka are thronging with mourners for her to the point one would think she was a fellow Velkan.

-Despite public outcry from the Velkan population of both Velka and the Velka That Never Was, King Tikhon signs the treaty ending the war. Privately however, the King and many other Velkans still refer to Dvanik as the Emperor.

-King Tikhon orders that the flags of Avakonia and Raejisa are to remain flying over all cities in the Kingdom of Velka.

-Velkan society enters a period of serious contemplation of them and their role in this world that is so different from the one they knew recently. Velka is now completely independent, more than the Old Wolf had dared or wanted... and now they do not know what to do.

-The King officially declares adherence to the Old Gods to be illegal in all Velkan lands, refusal to convert to Dejanism, the Yalankov, or Perjanism will be met with sanctions.

-After consultations with the Keeper of Family Virtue, it is determined that "Heir of Avakonia" is to be added to the title of the King of Velka while "Keeper of the Great Oath" is removed from it.

Regions 55, 58

D:1 M:5 E:1 F:7 I:3

Ruled by Priest-King Kherdan-Neth (Long May He Reign?)

A new reign dawns... even though Khyrus-Kha has somehow managed to cling to life for a while longer. The old man is a husk of his former self, his eyes hollow pools of inky blackness, his build that of a skin-covered skeleton.

This puts Kherdan-Neth in an even more awkward position than the fact that due to a mix-up in orders, Ascalante was defended by only a single unit led by an unqualified schmuck of a priest and is now under the heel of craven foreign occupation. How can he reign as Priest-King while his father still lives?

So the arrival of the blessed Children of R'Karth is greeted with public jubilation perhaps exceeded by Kherdan-Neth's private jubilation. His father lives because the Gods have another task for him. Such a sign of favor can only be a good omen, and if the mission takes the old man out of the country for a bit, well, that's just dandy.

The young ruler then turns his attention to the most pressing matter: Getting the pigs of the Satrapy out of Khursani territory. And tending to some domestic matters at home... Khurnath of Kalid came out of retirement when the nation needed him before, and it needs him still, but it's hardly right to keep depending on one ever-victorious warrior...

Round Nine Actions

1. [Diplomacy- Go chat to some bugs]- The Children of R'karth have issued a polite invitation, it would be unthinkably rude to decline the emissaries of one of the Gods! Even as armies marshal for the reconquest of Ascalante, a retinue gathers around the withered former ruler to escort him. Besides Khyrus-Kha himself, a small honor guard from the Daughters of R'Karth (many of them practically beside themselves with excitement- the quartermasters of Irenfell take great pride in their insignia), two masked priests of Omagrutha, a trio of other priests honoring the Old Gods more generally, and Kherdan-Neth's twin daughters, Lalaen and Shireen, sent along to observe statecraft as their legendary grandfather conducts it.

2. [Military 5 Special- Recruit a General]- Recruit a General Say one thing for the near-constant state of warfare Khur has been caught up in, it certainly seems to have generated some able officers. One of the Sea Eagles of Tarsis, Captain Tyekanik burns to liberate his homeland from the foreign bastards occupying it... assuming he gets the chance. A veteran of both victory and defeat, he is unknown among the Khursani of the heartland, but quite famous in both Ascalante and Irenfell.

3. [Military- Invade Ascalante/Region 54]- Army is led by Khurnath of Kalid, the Military 6 Miracle, leading three units (The Hammers of Kalid, the Thunderers of Raam, and the Urak Firstborn) and spending one treasure, total army bonus of +10. @Easter01

4. [Faith- Seek Aid for Invasion of Region 54 (failed)]- Seek Aid for Invasion . The Khursani army never marches without a lot of ritual ridiculousness, of course, but the ill omens of Kherdan-Neth's reign include royally botching one of the ceremonial beheadings to Nurgash the Warbringer- the unfortunate but highly enthusiastic priest carrying out the sacrifice sending the victim's head flying to land in the young Priest-King's lap.

5. [Military- Sack Trading Post 1 in Region 62]- With shortages keeping them off of the field in army-sized contingents, the Sea Eagles of Tarsis, their homeland occupied by the cowardly vermin from the south, make themselves busy in smaller unit actions, attacking caravans and leaving the words "Free Ascalante" painted onto the wagons in the blood of their victims- all of whom are horribly mutilated.

The crew of the ship that bore her to the Isle of Vehyr is not punished- for the orders they saw appeared to be genuine, and anyway, the Confederacy is a friendly nation. Nor are ties worsened- the Isle had no obligation to detain a member of the royal family claiming to be on official business. Kherdan-Neth curses his sister's name, but at present, she is beyond Khur's reach and there's not much to be done.
  • Kheri, having spent the intervening two years laying the groundwork and learning a thing or two, heads for Velka aboard a ship from the Isle. Upon arrival at the shore, she declares herself as Khursani- meaning a lot of guard attention- and also requests sanctuary. And ideally, a meeting with someone from the Velkan government. @Thanasi
  • Between Kheri's treason and the inauspicious start to Kherdan-Neth's reign, there are rumblings of discontent that would have been unthinkable with his father on the throne. Many decry the lack of formal religious ritual to usher in the new reign, pointing out that Khyrus-Kha's devotion to the Gods was at the root of the successes of his reign. Others point out that the young man has tried, but that rites have gone awry. Perhaps the Gods are displeased with him for daring to sit on the throne while his father yet draws breath...

The Kalipsa Khaliphate

Regions 1, 2, 7

Ruled by Khaleesi Dhaenyra Vitus

At Peace - Committed to Opposing Slavery and Dejanism in the West.

D:5 M:9 E:2 F:2 I:8

Round 10 Actions

1. [Military] Sack TP 1 in Region 24. (Open - Slaves)

2. [Military] Sack TP 3 in Region 24. (Open - Slaves)

In the name of Kassandra! Khaleesi Dhaenyra dispatches wyvern riders to liberate those poor souls enslaved in Region 24. They strike two independent slave markets in the region with the explicit instruction to leave no masters alive. They seem to avoid the trading post controlled by the Dryads of the Misty Wood however, for worry of invoking a broader conflict. Her political advisors spit at her restraint, but the Khaleesi is unphased by this indignity. She maintains a firm hold over the Khaliphate's legions through which her strength is known.

3. [Intrigue] Raid TP 1 in Region 17. (Open - Cherries)

The search for provisions continues, as Drak'ow merchants scour Emjata for food crops. Their trading methods are...unorthodox...pressuring local markets to turn over control of their operations at the end of a sharp blade.

4. [Diplomacy] Attend the Inauguration of Safiri.

5. [Diplomacy] Press Claim on Region 3. [2/2]

6. [Free Action] Support Isle of Vehyr's claim on Region 5.

In her first international visit since her ill-ended meeting with the Court of Eyes, Khaleesi Dhaenyra travels to the Isle of Vehyr for the Coronation of Safiri. Along the way, she visits the Drak'ow worshippers in Region 3 affirming their loyalty to her rule. In a sign of continued friendship, the Khaliphate backs the Isle's efforts in the Crescent Civil War.

+1 Military +1 Diplomacy

News and Rumors

Rumors abound in Draknor that the Khaleesi's spies have been seen frequently near the region's silver mines currently occupied by Carnelian sponsored prospectors. Nationalizing these mines under the crown could be seen as a simultaneous blow to the Pact of the Bladed Path and the Velkan hegemony short of actual war. Still, the Drak'ow seem unaturally cautious...

The Khaliphate continues to enforce the Dhaenyra Letter, the presence of any Paroxyst or Dejanist aligned armies in proximity to their home peninsula will result in an armed response.

Veyhr Confederacy

Regions 4 + 56 + 57

Ruled by Safiri Garai-Kiama Amarsin'An

D:4 M:6 E:2 F:6 I:3

Round 10 Actions

[Diplomacy] Event - The Inauguration of Safiri

With the death of Kiama, a new Frulju-Ja'rili'i is to be named.  But first, Kiama must be laid to rest.  Her body is buried at the site of the ruins of Siscius as per the will of the Zu'Eyth.  Three days of mourning are held, and on the fourth day a Zu'Eyth sprouts from the grave of Kiama. The fourth day is dominated by celebration of the birth of a new Zu'Eyth.  It is on the fifth day, that political and religious leaders from across the Confederacy come together, and name as per the will of Kiama, Safiri to be the next Frulju-Ja'rili'i.  The inauguration is to be held a month after, with an open invitation to leaders from across Emjata if they wish to attend.

[Diplomacy] Press Marriage Claim on Region 5

Result = 2d6+4 = 16 + 2 (Support from neighbor KKH) = 18 = Outstanding Success

As one of her first official acts, Safiri responds to a request from Ah-Kalla Hayani.  He is unable to attend her inauguration as the civil war in the Crescent grows increasingly intense.  As such, he calls upon the political backing of the Confederacy to support and protect his people.  Safiri declares that the Confederacy supports Ah-Kalla for the throne of the former Kingdom of Tumir, and will provide military support for Ah-Kalla's faction to protect his people.  At the same time, Safiri implores all factions in the Crescent to lay down their arms and end their bloody conflict for the good of their people.

[Economy] - Attempt Buyout of Lead in Region 36 (R36TP1)

Result = 2d6+2 = 7 = Failure

Merchants from the Isle turn their attention to [Region 36].  With the rise of the Loot Gremlins, some merchants decide to act in order to secure further metal resources for the Confederacy.  The lead of [Region 36] is deemed as a possible alternative to tin in order to support the Confederacy's military. Unfortunately, the people of [Region 36] do not take the deal provided.

[Economy] - Attempted Buyout of Sun Stones in Meer (R59TP3)

Result = 2d6+2 = 10 = Failure

Sun Stones.  A strange glowing rock.  As the Confederacy grows on the world stage, so does the demand for luxuaries.  And glowing rocks definitely fit.  As such, Confederacy merchants look to Meer, and seek to make a deal.

Ruled by Empress Aemiliana Rafaela Zhekurus, Oracle of Rieba
D:6 M:7 E:5 F:10 I:8

Round 10 Actions
  1. [Diplomacy] Mourn Empress Aemiliana
With the passing of the Empress, her singular remaining territory passes to Velka. As a GM event, Velka does not need to action the receiving of this gift.

Aemiliana has ruled Avakonia for twenty long years. In this time it has descended from the monolith that united the known world to a feuding battlefield upon which the forces of light and dark do battle. After so many losses and so much tragedy, most of which was avenged, Aemiliana finally rests. She looks out upon the southernmost tip of her once vast Empire, the only remaining piece loyal to her, and knows that with no more men than a skeleton crew left in her castle that there is no longer a path forward for her. To the gods and for days on end she prays for this land's salvation. For an end to this bloody war, and the return of prosperity for all her people. After days without leaving her shrine, she finally dies of hunger, and the Perijanist church spreads the word of her passing across all Emjata. For all her sins and failings, she was the last true ruler of Avakonia. Will it ever again be ruled by a single Emperor?

Holy Kingdom of Raesijia
Regions 48, 52, 65

Ruled by King Dvanik Zhekurus
D:9 M:8 E:3 F:2 I:5

Round 10 Actions
  1. [Intrigue] Root Out Corruption (Prevent 'Culture of Bribery' for a turn?)

  2. [Intrigue] Recruit Aemiliana's Spy Network

  3. [Economy] Buy out R19 TP3 of Ballistae
With Aemiliana's passing, her trade posts become available. It would take only a short diversion to send them to Raesija instead...

  4. [Diplomacy] Declare an End to the Civil War
After a tremendous effort to reach agreement with warlike people in all corners of Emjata, a peace has finally been settled under the following treaty.

The Shattering of the Avakonian Empire

Under the following treaty, the Empire of Avakonia is declared defeated and its territories liberated from their oaths to the Emperor. Peace will reign for the next decade5 rounds. The peace can be broken after 3 for drama reasons. between all signatories and the states of Raesija and the Avakonian Secessionist Army, meaning that they shall not raid or harm one another for the duration of the truce.

Dvanik may no longer claim to be an Emperor, but retaining his title of Kingship is acceptable. He renounces his right to rule from Avakonia, as it is emblematic of an era now passed.

The Avakonian Secessionist Army shall be formed into the Pirate Republic of Asalon and legitimized.

The Pirate Republic of Asalon will be forbidden from raiding the Holy Kingdom of Raesija.

The Pirate Republic of Asalon will have their institution of slavery held accountable by Perijanist faithful. In so doing, it will not be allowed to expand or allow truly awful conditions. Those found in violation of this agreement are to be subject to a sizable bounty of 25 gold (0.1 treasure), which may be collected by any as long as credible proof is submitted to the Perijanist church. Asalon is responsible for paying this bounty in perpetuity.

The Pirate Republic of Asalon may not purge its people in perpetuity.

The Holy Kingdom of Raesija will be protected from Paroxyst conversions from the Dryads of the Misty Woods for the duration of the truce.

The Carnelian Republic will trade Avakonia (region 51) to the Pirate Republic of Asalon . The Pirate Republic of Asalon will trade region 16 to the Carnelian Republic. The Court of Eyes will trade Vratis (region 17) to the Carnelian Republic. The Holy Kingdom of Raesija, Carnelian Republic, and Court of Eyes shall not convert one another for the duration of the truce.

The League of the Hundred Pearls shall guarantee respect for Abhidic traditions outside their capital of Myrianese. The Holy Kingdom of Raesija shall forfeit their claim to 67 and allow it to enter the protection of the League in perpetuity.

The Commonwealth of Uhrasa will allow the Pirate Republic of Asalon to gain the rights to Karys (region 48). However, the people of Karys refuse to transfer to their new liege despite any wording on the treaty. They remain Raesijan at this time. The Pirate Republic of Asalon and Holy Kingdom of Raesija agree to enter a mutual defense pact with the Commonwealth of Uhrasa.

As the defenders of Raesija, Velka is allowed to keep the region. The people refuse to return to Dvanik after he abandoned them to the monstrous army of Khur. The Holy Kingdom of Raesija and Kingdom of Velka will enter a formal alliance. With Dvanik's authority as Emperor crumbling, it seems that the two sides are experiencing a reversal of power dynamics with Velka as head of the Dejanist faith with more land to their name and a freedom from their ancient oaths.

Lord Fredrick Ei is a noble that has fought for the Satrapy since he was young, from his time as a mercancry to pay for his house's upkeep to commander in the satrapy's forces. As is right, in matters of defense the god of rivers is beseeched. He who gives life also protects it, and to ask for his aid in the dangers to come 20 preists will sit within the flowing rivers that come down the mountains for 5 days and 5 nights, only leaving upon completion. Through their endurance they grant a similar will to the warriors that fight in battle.

The Satrapy already owns a large copper supply, but without Tin it is little better than a weak metal. But with Tin it can be made into bronze cheaply and easily, giving the sandvolk a major source of hard power due to the wealth increase from such a mixture and from the ability to produce cheap arms and armor.

An industrial people the Satrapy will not be stopped from having the food they so desire, Cumin will be back on the menu by the end of the year if they have anything to say about it. Though this recent shortage has caused them some desire to push find another source of strong flavors.
