Distinctive Trait
Clever. One of the reasons why you know that you are going to find what you seek is because of the intuitive leaps you’ve made
while examining the clues.

Specialty
Rhymes of Lore. Much information in your quest is hidden in verse.

Hope
I know that the Shadow will tremble the day we recover a lost relic.

Despair

I feel that my quest is distracting me from something far more important.

5386-200.png Character Overview

Appearance

Malvegil is a thin man of Minas Tirith, with brown hair and brown eyes. While he is not a young man, grey hairs have not yet shown upon his head. To others not from Gondor his clothes seem expensive, but are practical for going on an adventure. He wears a black traveling cloak, a leather jerkin, and comfortable boots. He also wears a silver brooch depicting the White Tree.

Personality

Clever Malvegil, was always curious about the old sea-kings who built the two kingdoms of Arnor and Gondor. As a boy he would always search for stories and tales about the old kings and the wonders they brought out of the west. This caused Malvegil to get into places and libraries that he should not have been in, but he so did enjoy the adventure.

History

The man known as Malvegil was no stranger to trouble. His curiosity about treasures and knowledge of the old kings, put him in the forbidden places of Gondor. Malvegil was known to Old Turgon the twenty-fourth ruling steward of Gondor as a seeker of lost tales and treasures. Rather than put Malvegil in a prison, the steward put the man to good use.

Malvegil was to seek treasures that belonged to descendants of Gondor. Maybe there was a weapon of some kind that could be of use to Gondor. Malvegil set upon his task and traveled to Eriador to seek what was needed.

Malvegil Man of Minas Tirith Treasure Hunter 3

AC: 14 HP: 18/18 HD: 3/3d8 |Initiative: +3 Passive Perception: 13 Insight: 11 Speed: 30 ft
Inspiration: Y Shadow: 0 |Piercing Sight DC 11 WisdomIt is said that few can hold fast against the piercing eyes of a Man of Gondor and that under such a gaze, secrets hidden in the hearts of lesser men are often revealed.

The first time you are introduced to another as part of a social encounter, instead of making an ability check using a skill, you may instead fix your opponent with your steely gaze.

Your target must make a Wisdom saving throw against a
DC equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier. If it fails, you gain insight into its reasoning (if any), its emotional state and something that looms large in its thoughts, such as whatever it w orries over, loves or hates.

If it succeeds, its thoughts are veiled to you.
Whether you succeed or fail, your opponent knows that something is amiss, and feels discomforted by your gaze.

Further social ability checks against the target have
disadvantage.

What’s more, abusing knowledge gleaned from the
thoughts of another may lead to a Misdeed if you use
your ‘ill-gotten’ knowledge to hurt or influence the target unjustly.

Piercing Gaze does not work on Dwarves and Elves, for their thoughts are not readily discerned by Men.
 |
Cunning ActionStarting at 2nd level, your quick thinking and agility allow you to move and act quickly. You can take a bonus action on each of your turns in combat. This action can be used only to take the Dash, Disengage, or Hide action. | Sneak AttackBeginning at 1st level, you know how to strike subtly and exploit a foe's distraction. Once per turn, you can deal an extra 1d6 damage to one creature you hit with an attack if you have advantage on the attack roll. The attack must use a finesse or a ranged weapon.

You don't need advantage on the attack roll if another enemy of the target is within 5 feet of it, that enemy isn't incapacitated, and you don't have disadvantage on the attack roll. The amount of this extra damage increases as you gain levels in this class, as shown in the Sneak Attack column of the Treasure Hunter table.
2d6|
The Shadow of My PocketsYours may be a somewhat larcenous spirit, but you
certainly don’t serve the Shadow in the East. Starting when
you choose this archetype at 3rd level, when you commit
a Theft Misdeed (normally causing you to automatically
acquire 3 Shadow points) you only receive 1 Shadow point.
| FilchYou are adept at picking people’s pockets and performing
other acts of legerdemain when their guard is down. Also
starting at 3rd level, when you make a Sneak Attack in
melee combat, instead of inflicting extra damage you may instead successfully perform a Dexterity (Sleight of Hand) check on your opponent (you still do regular damage as normal if you wish).

In addition to normal uses of Sleight of Hand, this feature enables you to take any weapon on your opponent’s person that they are not currently wielding.

|Treasure LoreWhen you first pick this archetype at 3rd level, you hear
many tales about strongholds or ruins where great
treasures may lay. Whenever you are told of a particular
location or chance across it, you may ask the Loremaster
for three pieces of information regarding the locale. This
information is usually a mixture of particular treasures
and obstacles.
Information gleaned may be taken as generally true,
although details may be fuzzy and key bits omitted.
