iantruesilver Posted October 24 Clone Share Posted October 24 (edited) Valeria Claudianus Valeria followed beside Flint, her iron skillet still in hand from the little encounter with the one wolf before. Coming upon what must be some kind of altercation, she quickly hefted the cast iron over her shoulder, having a preliminary glance over those gathered. It was obvious that the villagers were confronting a pack of wolves. But the question was, does any one of them look like that big talking one they saw at the decrepit dwarves place? Indeed, do any of them speak? With quick turns of her head, Val looked toward the confrontation and back to Rawanne, hoping… Statistics Block Valeria Claudianus Human Fighter [Free Hand Fighter] 1 CG Init +1; Senses Perception +2

Defense

AC 15, touch 11, flat-footed 14 (Armour +4, Dex +1) HP 11 / 13 Fort +4, Ref +1, Will +1

Offense

Speed 30 ft. We have to get the medicine to the alchemist," Rawanne knows the answer but voices her concerns anyway. CharmingSatyr Posted Wednesday at 06:04 AM Author Clone Share Posted Wednesday at 06:04 AM The Search for a Cure - Post 80 As the group nears the church, the tableau they walk through looks less like an abandoned village and more like an apocalyptic warzone. The bodies of wolves and townsfolk litter the street and, as they approach, they come across what looks like a desperate last stand of the villagers against a group of nearly a dozen wolves showing what appears to be an preternatural level of discipline and organization. The townsfolk seem to be using the grounds of the church to make a last-ditch effort to defend the grounds and, presumably, the sick and defenseless people inside. The tall stone walls act as a barrier to the wolves entry that they are unable to easily leap over, creating two chokepoints -- one near the group, and one farther south on the other side of the church grounds. Melee fighters man the gateways to the church grounds, while spellcasters and archers have posted themselves at the church entryways, providing ranged support. In addition, two more archers have positioned themselves in the belltower overlooking the grounds, providing ranged support with their dwindling number of arrows. From the injured townsfolk and the slain wolves, it appears that at least one offensive push from the wolves has been resisted and repelled. However, it's clear that they're preparing for another push. And, as they outnumber the villagers, it's anybody's guess if they'll succeed. As the group is taking all of this in, one of the wolves turns and faces the quartet, showing no fear at the approach of the armed and armored humans. Larger than the rest, and darker colored, the canine bares its fangs and snarls at the four. Its visage is particularly gruesome, as large patches of fur are missing from its head and face, with exposed skin scarred and marred as if burned with fire or splashed with acid. Its hackles rise as it attempts to make itself look larger, taking a step forward, than another, as it looks past Flint, Valeria, and Bella, locking eyes with Rawanne. It barks out a warning -- whether to alert its compatriots or scare off the interlopers, it's not clear. Though, to Rawanne's ears, it sounds like it's specifically calling her out with a cry of "YOU!"
