Table Talk/OOC

Hey, if anyone was hoping to get the last word in on the conversation with Quim (except maybe Draco, who might have been busy during that time), then feel free to just add it to your next post. I don't think Quim's got much more to say on the matter and obviously other things kind of pull the attention anyways, so you'll get a clean (and likely unmatched) shot at him.

I'll hold off on post for a few days because this isn't Quim's scene to have, to be honest. You guys are the OGs with history with this NPC.

Okay, so I'm a little confused by Draco's talk of Cessah being a slave. Admittedly, Quim is a little neutral in the 'keep her in chains vs let her go' argument, but Basil is just a little unclear on the leap from a prisoner without a jailor to Cessah being a slave. Could you clarify that bit. Also, this does feel like a conversation that probably should be enacted OOC before committed to IC, because Nancy just declared her opinion and it was basically ignored because another person happened to have the keys. There's more moving parts to this scene that are being...overlooked.

Even the placement of everyone might make a difference.

Fair point to request a discussion. I'm fine with you guys jumping on discord, if that's easier. In fact, I'll copy/paste to there just to let everyone know.

I think that the idea of keeping someone chained up could be seen as pretty hypocritical after what the characters went through. I would definitely say "prisoner" not "slave" though, plus arguably it's an eye for an eye (not that a party paladin would necessarily agree). Still, Nancy will not be happy with someone moving to release Cessah!

What TheFred said. She is currently chained up, awaiting a terrible fate. To Draco, that's pretty much Slavery and he doesn't want to see that again (it's also reinforcing his Unshackled Trait he has so extra RP!). If he wasn't so focussed on getting those supplies and wouldn't alienate an entire city, he would have done something back in the Citadel they were just in.

Also, he kinda remembers Sulliyah and how she was after her time with the baddies. He wouldn't want that for anyone, even his worst enemy (ironic, considering the situation right now)

Also, tactically speaking an extra healer/user to handle any potential attacks would be great. Quite a few of the team took a couple of nasty hits and Draco wants to stack the odds further in their favour (also, if things go bad, she probably won't be able to run as fast so the others can all escape safely).

Also, the chances Cessah would rather observe the effects of whatever she did to us without imminent threat by shadowy beings is rather high.

And finally, if they fail (because that is always a possibility) and she could have turned things around, Draco would never be able to forgive himself (if he was still alive at that point).

But yeah, it's mainly the first point. If they were arresting her to bring her to face justice, that's one thing. But there is no potential justice in these bonds.

Also, he doesn't have to free her completely. Just freeing her from the wall so she can leave the place would work, she can remain cuffed or hobbled.

- Edit: He was actually going to free her from the wall so she can move around. Seems I forgot to include that in my post so it sounds like he's freeing her completely. Oops :ro:

Yeah I read that as you uncuffing her. I kinda figured we would unchain her from the ground, or we can’t take her with us, the argument was about letting her hands free so that she can cast spells or stab us in the back. 🙂

There we go. Clarified, kinda.

Did have to go peeking at OGMW to remember if it was a half-orc or half-elf that she technically saved from that guard, because I remember the half but not what half. 😅

OK, I am going to roll my save against the Cloaker's fear effect here since its results will determine what my actions are this turn.

Lol! This is the first time I've ever used them. Normally I'd think them too challenging for a low-level group, but it's been hard to handicap encounters for you guys. Even now, I think I gave you too many meatshields to deal with this encounter.
