Hi!

Like Chimi I'm just going to see what the dice say and make something up out of it, so no real concept as yet for me...

EDIT: Sorry about accidentally joining the game, I was trying to follow it and my hand twitched. 🤦‍♂️

Will NPCs have Luck as well?

I guess I'm concerned because this game just came out and you already have house-rules for it. Are you sure your changes won't alter how the game plays?

At most, named NPCs may be able to use a small pool of Luck, but I'm not 100% decided on that, though I'm leaning toward "no, only players have Luck."

That's a fair concern. I'd say the Luck rules will alter how base CWN plays, simply by being used. CWN is meant to play as 80s cyberpunk mixed with OSR lethality/mentality. The luck rules I think do lessen the lethality at very least. But that's also partly the point, as I'm trying to emulate the feel of Shadowrun, not Bladerunner or Neuromancer. I included Luck in part because Edge points are a significant system in Shadowrun, but also because default CWN already includes some of the options I have in Luck as benefits for various Foci/Cyberware/etc (like the Enhanced Reflexes cyberware lets you go first in initiative).

At the end of the day, having the house-rules in the game is not my hill to die on, so if it's determined either the extra rules are ruining the game or it's keeping people from enjoying the game, I have no issue with dropping them wholesale.

Hello!

Love me some Sixth World action. Not pre-stating a character concept because old-school roll-down-the-line isn't as forgiving. Let's see what we get!

Hi Chimi! That works for me. :) Let's see what dice gods give us.

All good! Looking forward to see what comes out of the dice rolls!

how much money is "floating around"? The wired edge offers a huge amount of cyberware but I have no sense what constitutes a "manageable" amount of monthly maintenance for the cyberware.

So cyberware maintenance is on pg. 63 and has a monthly maintenance of 5% of the cost of the cyber in question (not including surgical implantation costs and mod costs). The average payout for a Lvl 1 party is 10,000 per job (can shift up or down depending on who's funding the job)

So I guess it depends on the specific cyber you get, if it's modded at all, and how many jobs you do in a month

Hey everyone :) I don't have a strong concept in mind, just some ideas that might or might not be kneecapped by die rolls.

This'll be the first time I use the new MW site for anything game-related so apologies in advance if I make a mess of it.

Welcome to the other side of Myth-Weavers! If you do get kneecapped by rolls the Underdog Rule is available. And cyberware makes up for a multitude of sins shortcomings.

Thank you! Looks like ol' Harry's too average for such face-saving rules!

Since there's already a Luck saving throw, how about changing the name of luck points to Karma? I know that name's probably better used for XP in Shadowrun, but I was thinking having points, an attribute, and a saving throw called luck might be a source of confusion

That's a good point. I hadn't considered the saving throw with the naming. Karma works for me.
