Garel is a somber, prudent man, slow to anger, yet hard and stubborn as stone. Not a quick thinker, Garel is rather a considerate planner, trying to see problems from all angles before acting. This often causes others to classify him as unintelligent and plodding, though his thoughtful comments dispel the myth for those that know him. Yet once set on course, it is almost impossible to dissuade him. In battle Garel explodes in fury like a volcanic eruption, reveling in taking hits as much as delivering them. Battle is the only time that passion rules his thoughts rather than cold hard logic. He has a big heart though, and will willingly risk himself for the safety of those around him, though afterwards he might ponder on the rationale of such actions.
Mannerisms and Appearance
Tall but not towering, broad of shoulder, thick of arm and leg, and strong of jaw, Garel is an imposing figure that appears as solid as the earth he manifests. Glowing yellow eyes stare from deep sockets framed by golden geometric patterns that carve his russet skin across his cheeks and streak from the bridge of his nose to cover the dome of a bald pate that is smooth as a river rock. His chainmail is well tended, as well as his shield and axe that he keeps close at hand at all times. He tends to wear muted earth tones of greens and browns with the only truly flashy piece of his arraignment being the gleaming steel gauntlet he wears on his shield hand, a gauntlet to hide the mutilated hand beneath.
