Appearance, Demeanor & Personal Style: Vesper's youth shows in his every move, whether it's the way he insists on scampering, not walking, towards any given object of interest, or how he struggles comically underneath the weight of his adventuring gear. Fortunately for him, Aerie shoulders the gear more often than not, carrying the modestly sized pack as if it weighed nothing at all - and to be fair, it doesn't really weigh that much. Adding to his undignified appearance is the way his spectacles, probably a hand-me-down from someone with a much larger head, constantly slip down to the end of his nose. Half the time he just gives up and looks at people over the lenses, while the other half of the time he slams them higher onto his face with the back of a fist, where the glasses remain for all of a few seconds before beginning their descent once more.

The summoner is dressed for adventure, but the severe cut of his obviously armor-lined vest and pants softened by his ever optimistic expression. More tellingly, he wears armored greaves and gauntlets - while clothing with the appearance of armor might be in fashion with the nobles' sons, the wannabe adventurers and Pathfinders, only those with real experience in combat realize the necessity of armoring one's extremities. That he wears these pieces of armor all the time shows his real readiness - he's always ready for trouble.

However, clothing analysis seems to fall apart for Aerie, who serenely walks the streets in nothing more than simple cloth robes and open-toed sandals. Her own authority comes from the nonchalant way she shoulders an unusually long three-headed polearm, the blades aggressively jutting outward from the end meant to pierce through armor at the end of a mighty swing, the long length of the weapon granting massive leverage - but only for those with with the strength to wield it. And if one stares long enough at her, shadows of what seem to be... parts of wings... flicker in the small of her back, but they're never there for any longer than the blink of an eye, making one dismiss them as nothing more than a trick of the light.

Personality: Vesper is brash, always willing to charge headlong into a situation without proper analysis or reading of the situation, fond of letting things fall as they may and working details out later. Aerie doesn't seem to disagree with this method, but more out of a resigned air that her summoner will do what he pleases, and it's up to her to bump the situation up from "catastrophe" to "questionable success".

Despite this conflict of ideology, the pair as a whole are extremely warm towards strangers and allies alike. A surprising number of strained situations have been defused by Vesper's childishly simplistic arguments, backed by nothing more than force of belief and idealism. Of course, he does this underneath Aerie's eternal shadow, never letting himself go unguarded.

Background: Vesper should have been laughed out of the Great Lodge to begin with, given his young age - young enough to be given a raised eyebrow upon walking into a sailor's tavern, and young enough to be laughed out and punted out of a brothel, if he ever had a mind to.

However, when he decided he wanted to become a Pathfinder, he had a bit of a trick up his sleeve. Earlier, in his childhood, he'd played in the ruins of an old temple of Shelyn, long abandoned as the prosperity of the surrounding farms dwindled and the frontier moved on unknown centuries ago. Still without all his adult teeth, when exploring a somewhat caved-in chamber, he'd literally tripped over an old book bound in chains where it rested rather pointedly at the base of a defaced angel. Clearly seeing the value of this ancient treasure, he chose to not drag it home, but instead returned to it day after day, bashing at the adamantine locks with stones, sawing through the mithral links with a rusty file.

It was a labor of love, and so Shelyn decided it was worthy.

Upon reading the first pages, imagine Vesper's surprise when an angel fell out of the sky at his feet. More so, when he realized that he was underground, but hey, angel. He decided to not argue with angel-magic.

Only later, as he read each new page and called his playmate each new day, did he realize that the book told a story of woe, of a jilted lover and her "bulassfemuss" declaration to forsake love forever, upon where Shelyn herself rebuked her servant until such a time when someone "worthy" came to change her mind.

Naturally, the significance of all this flew right over dull Vesper's head, and as he grew into a teenager he decided the best application of his constant companion would be to go adventuring all over the world.

Amusingly, the Great Lodge of the Pathfinder Society never realized Aerie's true nature until the application process was finished, upon which the administrators in charge of the whole business gave her (and by extension, Vesper) the boot, claiming that a boy as young as him had no business running sensitive missions for the Society.

Unconcerned, Vesper repeated the same trick with the Shadow Lodge, found through a few weeks of keeping his ear to the ground. Again, his ploy was discovered - but unlike the organization it had splintered from, the Shadow Lodge pursed its lips and accepted the two of them anyways, needing all the good help they could get.

And really, it would be interesting to see just how a fallen azata, shackled to the soul of a brash young boy, would manage to regain her power...
