Yeah, Cesar Romero certainly had the laugh down. Unfortunately, The Joker is impossible to get exactly right. Nicholson and Ledger did a really good jobs, but The Joker is so deep seated, bat-crap, around the bend, not enough thorizine in the world crazy no one could play him accurately.

A psychiatrist (or Psychologist..not sure which) apparently wrote a profile of him a number of years ago. Wish I could find it. The Joker is so insane that he has developed a hyper sense of "Reality" short he fully realizes he is a comic book character; he is one of the very few DC characters that break the fourth wall and directly addresses the reader.
