(Pathfinder 2nd Edition) Age of Ashes

Age of Ashes - Forum
Pathfinder 2e

Welcome one and all to the Age of Ashes Adventure Path!

I understand Pathfinder 2nd Edition isn't officially out until August 1st, but some of us were lucky enough to get the books shipped early to us. I thought I would begin the advertisement for the game, so we can get things running quickly.

If you are interested, here's what I need from you:

IF you have the books, feel free to submit a character, but by no means is it required right now. I won't start with character selection (if I have enough submissions) until the week after official release (August 7-8 to be specific). What I DO need is a basic background and history of your character, a personality and history, and why you are in Isger.

The Age of Ashes Player's Guide is available for free here.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fires burn atop the ruined citadel on HellKnight Hill, sending plumes of red smoke into the air that could be a call for help. Within the old keep, strange invaders from a distant land, mysterious long-lost ruins, and the machinations of a shadowy organization await discovery. Something dire is building toward an apocalyptic event, and it falls to your characters to stop the end before it begins.

This might be the worst laid out and written PnP book I've ever gotten from a Larger Gaming Company.
I'm not sure it's all that bad. I mean, when you are actually building a character at 1st level, it's laid out pretty well, showing you just what you need to get going. I think that if you look over every game book ever made, this has by far the most mechanical options in a single book, so it's going to be a bit daunting no matter what the formatting is.

Charge is defined, in the equipment section under weapons:

"If you moved at least 10 feet on the action before your attack, add a circumstance bonus to damage for that attack equal to the number of damage dice for the weapon." A lance has that trait.

The traits listed under the animal are weapon traits (which you probably already knew) and as such as listed in the equipment section.

Only in the playtest document. In the full 2nd edition rules, they got rid of 'Charge' on the lance (the only weapon that had it), and replaced it with 'Jousting'. Jousting does still have that same damage boost, but also adds in some effects relates to using the weapon in one hand when mounted.

Just spoke to one of the developers of the game, Stephen Radney-MacFarland, and he said it was an error. He said to stick with the Playtest version of charge.

@RedWolfe77 You may want to put that into this thread.
