Rags to Riches

Rise to Glory - Forum
Dungeons & Dragons 3.5e

feel free to make a character and start today!

The capital city of the Dren Empire has become your destination. You and many others sit eagerly awaiting to arrive in its vast port. You have left what life you had behind you with the hopes of starting anew! Tyrannical lords, scoundrels, thieves and even threats of war are what have forced you to make this move.

The eastern coast of the Empire has become a slave driven land where men are worked to the deaths and women are corralled and sold on every corner of every port. It is a lawless time in the lands and the king has supposedly shut his eyes to the happenings outside of his own walls.

Many have made this voyage and many more are sure to follow for it said that in the city of Westmorrow even the lowest of low can amass riches suitable for the king himself.

Character Level: 2
Allowed Races: Human, Half-elf, Dwarf and Halfling
Stats: 32 point buy
Wealth: 100 gold
Health: max Hit Points

At the top left of this thread is a "forum" link to this game.

Read the creation rules the DM has put forth. You'll make a character sheet. Go to "sheets" tab right at the top of the menu. Create a Dungeons and Dragons 3.5 character sheet. It'll be blank initially.

- There will usually be an OOC (out of character) thread in the forum just to chat and get to know each other.
- There will usually be a character creation thread. In this thread, you will normally "Post new thread" (top right of the thread menu) with your character's name (or yours if you don't have one yet).
- There will usually be a "questions" or "character creation questions" or something thread where you can post direct questions about creating your character.
- It is important to keep questions in questions threads, OOC comments in OOC threads, and such to keep the DM's head from exploding.
- Most games, you are not guaranteed a spot. You will put an "application" with your character sheet, completed back ground and such and the DM will pick the few players who they want to play with. This game seems more loosely based so there may not be such a period.
- Feel free to ask other players for help as well. Most of us are nerds anyway and love to show off our nerd cred.
- Refrain from Private Messaging the DM if possible as most questions that you'll ask, someone else would have asked the same thing. Keep it all public and it saves a lot of time.
- This game is "point buy". There is a point buy calculator in the "site tools" tab at the top of this page (and every page). It saves time. Just plug in what stats you want and it will show you your total points spent. 32 is the limit for this game so just tweak it here and there till you have 32 spent and a close approximation of the stats you want. These are before any racial stat bonuses or penalties of course.
- It helps in your character creation thread you put a link to your sheet. That way they can see your progress. I make a point to put a back ground and personality on the front page of my thread so they can read it up front. Also, update your creation thread as you go so those who are reading it can give you pointers.

Good luck!

just to kick the tires, definitely no dwarves right? I have a 3.5 dwarven crusader that wants a home.
